You can get them from Gatewood Supply Co. They are also on gunbroker pretty regularly. The front sight drops right in. The rear comes still attached to a receiver stub and is a bitch to grind off. I believe Colorado gun sales sells the rear sight base itself already off the stub but it's even more expensive than the already very expensive sights.

The gen2 556r is still pretty damn good though. Regardless of caliber I've found the triggers are nice and the recoil impulse is pretty mild and smooth. SIG USA had to go and get all the bugs worked out then immediately drop it for that XI abortion. Enjoy your 7.62, check gunbroker for a 5.56 if you want. I regret selling my 556r I had before I found my 551A1.

Damn I really wish I could have found a 551a1. I looked for a long time, but never found any near me. So when I saw a classic 556 come up for a $1000 I had to go for it. I guess I'll keep looking and get either a 551a1 or a 7.62 556 next time I see either.
