Glock 43
It's small and light

FMK 9c1 gen 2 bill of rights edition, cause it's light, "murcan, the fast action trigger is pretty nice, and it was sub $300
>>
>>32629677
I fingered one of those today . . . . good lord. If it was given to me free I'd give it back. Why on earth did you not save $200 more and get something better?

> Currently between a Sig P320 or a Sig 226TALOS for next handgun purchase.
P320 to carry, 226 because it's kick ass.

Gen 3 Glock 26

why doe?
>Reliable, hold ten round magazines which is compliant with bullshit states like California where I am residing.
>Can use other Glock high-capacity magazines if need be like the 19 or the 17 magazines in SHTF scenario.
>Fairly simple mechanical design from my career standpoint (engineer).
>Easy to operate, no confusing safety or hammer mechanism so even a pleb or noguns can use it if need be.
>9mm for bountiful cheap ammo sources.
>Lightweight and compact
>>
>>32629677
I honestly considered FMK before my Glock purchase because it was made in the USA and was fairly ergonomic.

But its a new gun design and a new company. Who knows if they will keep solvent in a decade or how reliable their parts are.
>>
Glock brand Glock 19, 3rd Gen

Reason is that no matter what happens to it, I'll be likely to find parts or a replacement easily, anywhere.

I would get a smaller pistol to carry, but I feel that past this size they're not very comfortable to use for extended periods or for a class or anything.
>>
What's a good really compact (preferably da/sa) carry gun?

I'm kind of weary of all the striker shit out now and honestly as someone who's just now about to get their license the thought of carrying one makes me a little nervous.

I could get a cz rami but I do already have two cz guns (the only guns that I have lmao)

XD-s 9mm, 147gr HSTs. Nice ergos, is a tad heavier than other single stack 9s, I shoot very well with it, comes with a fiber optic front sight standard. Got a good deal on it other wise I probably would have went with a shield or something cheaper. My dad has a shield and my sister has a LC9s, have shot them quite a bit and would be fine carrying either but I am fond of my XD. Also it comes with a real hard case, not a cardboard box like many similar guns.

Most people either like or hate the grip safety, I dont mind it. I have a couple 1911s and a full size XD so i am used to it and never had any related issues. Dont have to worry about snagging the trigger on something when holstering and putting a hole in my leg/foot, which is very unlikely to happen with any gun, but still.
>>
>>32629884
You specifically want hammer fired DA/SA? Sig makes great offerings, possibly a small 1911, I personally think HK makes solid guns, but their "compact" models are XBOX Hueg.
>>
>>32629961
Not a fan of cocked and locked either.

I even considered a lcrx for this reason and some j frames.

I'm not huge on striker fired no manual safety 5 pound triggers, it seems to me better to have a double action pull on first shot and no safety.
>>
>>32629972
I had the same fear when I first started carrying, and my dad still does after years of me carrying. You'll be fine. Start with a 1911 (or similar safety system), cock it, and either drop the hammer or engage the safety. Move on from there. I went 1911, Jericho, Sig, (different) 1911, and now I'm looking into a P320 as a dedicated CC gun because I'm tired of switching out those 3 and their different holsters depending on what I'm wearing and where I'm going.

Sig P6 (Ex West german police 225) with new springs and a black ceracote coat (the bluing was horribly fucked up from years of holstering)

Why? Because its all steel, still light and small-ish although not too small. Also DA

cocked and locked with the p938/p238 is fine because they have a firing pin block until the trigger is depressed.

I also will on a rare occasion carry my Walther PPK .380 with Hornady XTP.

.357 magnum. i will sue his estate for hearing damage. i will lay out my case why it is the most effective self defense round in the most user safe and reliable package and he forced me to use it to protect my life but left me with permanent hearing damage.
>>
CZ P07 DA/SA mode. i carry cocked and locked since that's how I shoot in competition and it's just part of the draw stroke now. good SA trigger pull, easy to acquire sights, easy to shoot accurately. 20 yard center mass is pretty cake with it.

CZ P01 usually. If the situation calls for pocket carry, I have a Glock 36 for larger pockets, German Makarov for smaller pockets. Gonna try to switch both of those to a PPS M2.

I have 3.
>Glock 23 - primary, heavy clothing usually in the fall to late spring. OC sometimes in warm weather

>Sig P230 - deeper concealment for when I'm at College, or somewhere with "gun free" signs

>Sig P238 - deep concealment. Usually in an ankle holster while in a work uniform, or dress uniform. Occasionally on the go pocket pistol.

All three on far right. Recently got a S&W model 10 for dedicated OC on a nice Bianchi B2 duty belt with 350 holster.

Got it for the wife and she isn't carrying it
It's smaller than my sp101 and half as heavy while giving me 3 more rds
It's ergos are perfect and I shoot really well with it
Plus it has night sights
And the back up mag (making 15rds total) fits perfectly in the 5th pocket of my levis

AC43 P38
>DA/SA with a safety - I like having two layers of safety, and with a bit of practice I've been able to get the gun into action as fast as any Glock user.
>Reliable as fuck; I'm about 2000 rounds in and have yet to see a malfunction.
>It just *fits* me. The grip, the balance, the sights, the way it recoils; everything about shooting it feels incredibly natural in a way that I haven't really found with most other handguns. The Beretta 92 is close, but even that doesn't quite "click" as well as my Walther.
I have to OC for now anyway, because I can't get my CPL, so size isn't really a huge concern. Are there better options on paper? Almost certainly. But I'm more than confident enough in my old P38 to trust my life to it.

I just wish the damn thing would stop attracting wehraboos.

I'd only be interested in a glock for the aftermarket options, and I don't aim to rice too hard. I'm not against striker-fired designs but I'd prefer the easier access of a DA/SA hammer. Which is probably going to limit me to Wonder 9s

Of course that may reverse when I get around to testing a few options so I'll keep the G19 in mind

Shield 9 for half a year now.

Now that a holster came in for it, I'm going to try carrying my Glock 32 for a while.

Because i can carry it without a holster in my front pocket. In my area you are more likely to get mugged than straight up murdered so a mugger would expect me to get stuff out of my front pocket. Then pop pop pop watchin niggas drop.

Had a discussion at the range the other day, other guys said if carry was legal they'd OC their high end 1911s. Got laughed at when I said Glock 40 in shoulder holster. Not because of impracticality, but because
>lel Glock
>>
Is there any solid shoulder holster that isn't made out of leather?

Interested in the idea of tucking my handgun under my arm especially in the winter, but I'd rather have some more modern materials, or at least milspec stretch straps over leather.
>>
>>32629294

I used to carry a Shield but I now carry a Glock 19 because it's extremely size efficient for a 15+1.
>>32629884
Check out the PX4 Compact. It's the same size as a Glock 19. This is a good thread on it by Ernest Langdon.

https://pistol-forum.com/forumdisplay.php?15-Semi-Auto-Pistols

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAaC5o-9mpw

Another huge reason I carry the Glock 19 is that I can get a striker control device for it that lets me thumb the backplate just like you would on a DA/SA, greatly migitating the risk of an AD if something were to get into trigger when reholstering. Because of this, Glocks are the only striker guns I would actually carry.
>>
>>32634436
Ya but the px4 carry version literally MSRP at 800 fuckin dollars it's what the gun should've been

I really wanted the carry version but it has some stuff I really don't "need"

At most, I would buy the stock PX4, get the low profile levers and upgrade the sights.

Still, the Compact Carry is an extremely good value but Beretta really needs to stop overpricing their parts for their guns. The low profile levers cost $75 fucking dollars.

>>32634520
Incase you assumed those three are mine, they are not. Those are Ernest Langdon's and his idea was it was too heavy to conceal so he looked at the PX4 which is what he carries now. He pretty much exclusively shoots Beretta pistols.
>>
>>32634587
I know I watched the lucky gunner vid and all the god damn accessories are ridiculously expensive.

Maybe I'll just get a polymer framed cz
>>
>>32634623
You really don't need most of them. A low profile kit, some talon grip tapes and some bright orange paint for the front sights and blacking out the rears will be good enough.

Look at the CZ RAMI BD or the P07.

>>32629294
VP9 and an HK45C

Because despite genuinely wanting to move to a G19 only, I can put bullets where I want them to go with HK pistols better than most any other (besides full size 1911s).

I'm forever H and Kucked.
