Something like this is good for all purpose innawoods. Big fixed blade, and reliable as fuck. I was given my father's(of similar make as these) that he got in '81 and the still hold up just fine.

You'll also want something small and versatile for small stuff and quick access, or in a situation that something of that size is too much for. Always carry two knives when innawoods. It's pretty terrific.
