Somebody actually patented this weapon in 1915.

Albert B. Pratt of Lyndon, Vermont thought this was a good idea.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALBERT B. This invention relates to weapons, and among other objects provides a gun adapted to be mounted on and fired from the head of the marksman.
The character of the invention may be best understood by reference to the following description of an illustrative embodiment thereof shown in the accompanying drawings, wherein,

Taking headcanon to a whole new level.
SKUL GUN
What so all head mounted guns are patented or just this shitty design?

Sorry, do you not realize that Vermont is in America?

Call me crazy, but if this thing worked, wouldn't it be mildly useful for trench warfare?
>>32612450
Fuck, beat me too it
>>32612527
I never said it wasn't
>>32612529
You're crazy.
Sure, it would be mildly useful in the sense that it could kill an enemy soldier standing nearby. It would also be dangerous and inconvenient and in almost all ways inferior to a real rifle.
Can you imagine the neck pain of trying to rapid fire that thing? Can you imagine an enemy round pinging off your extra high-profile headgun and giving you whiplash?
No fun. What's our solider doing with his unoccupied arms, masturbating?
>>32612693
It's for soldiers who lost their arms, you insensitive prick
>>32612529
the alternatives were better

If war ever gets to the level that we need to be using amputees in combat, then we have failed as a nation.
>>32615283
we WILL use amputees in combat but they will have cyber augmented limbs
I suppose I could see the logic of a face gun for something like a robot where that's also where it's cameras are and it'd both have a strong enough neck to not get fucked by it but also actually accurately aim with it, but for a human I feel like you'd be unable to fine aim outside dick touching range (for guns that is, it would probably be "easy" to aim up close, but then so is literally any modern handgun)
