It would have to be a tie between the hawker tempest and the fw 190 dora, your opinions /k/?
Lol no.
Definately pic related.

Autism: The Plane
F4U-1C.
Full fucking stop.
>Not mustang
>Not spitfire
>Not a yak
Disregard OP. He sucks cocks.
>>32610861
Its a good plane but its elevator is pretty much useless at high speeds.
Yak-3
>>32610828
FW-190D is the definition of a meme.
If you include planes with so little production numbers, it's a contest between P-51H, F8F Bearcat, Hawker Tempest.
If you count only "mainline" fighters, it's no doubt P-51, because it's the only fighter that fundamentally changed the way the war was fought, while all the other fighters could have been replaced with something similar and not change what would have happened all that much.
>>32610828
I'd say either the Lightning or Mustang.
Lightnings could at least fly home with a missing engine, and the Mustang really changed the bomber situation.
>>32610931
lol the cannon Corsair was something.
>>32610958
At least the Yak-9T could bomber hunt.
>>32610828
There is no such thing as "best plane"
That being said, if there was, it would definitely not be either of those.
>props
>>32611050
please leave, the adults are talking
>>32611050
> 20 hour engine life
> needs an overhaul every 2 flights
> flames out if you push the throttle hard
> not enough fuel to do anything besides point interceptions
>>32611017
The Yak-9T wasn't exactly a spectacular performer though, as the 37mm gun happens to have a bit of heft to it.
That being said, out of all the Yakovlev fighters pretty much only the Yak-3 and Yak-9U were even remotely good, and they were both endgame fighters at best. Yakovlev deisgn bureau was a big fucking meme. La-5FN and La-7 is where it's at. The latter even shot down jets.

[exploding engine noises]
This qt
Would fuck
>>32610828
definitely one of the sexiest, and it handled well (especially so when they fixed the engine cutting out)
best fighter was probably the p51 tho. great service record, fast, long range, durable.
would have been interesting to see the army air force go up against a full strength luftwaffe
>>32610828
There were faster planes.
There were more heavily armed planes.
There isn't one with a better history or that played a more heroic and glorious part in the war
>>32610828
B-17.
The USA's strategic bombing campaign crippled Germany and Japan, dramatically shortening the war.
>>32610957
Fixed in later versions sort of.

Uhu is best plane in that game tbqh
Also
>people had trouble shooting them down because it turned so fast
>>32611050
>most abysmal climb rate of any aircraft ever
>>32611050
>can't even build their compressor blades properly
yeah nice if and if your pilot bails out over enemy lines he's fucked all the friendly tanks have gearbox failures and their crews are probably starving
>>32611152
Then it would have to be Lancaster. RAF dropped far more bombs on Germany. Wait.. using four engined bombers against Germans was mistake, if bongs had built mostly pic related... allied casualties in burning down kraut cities would have been way lower.
>>32611180
>playing bore blunder
lmao'ing @ ur life lad
>>32611152
I like how German production peaked at 1944, arguably the apex of Allied strategic bombing. Really fires up those neurons.
>>32611924
>I like how German production peaked at 1944, arguably the apex of Allied strategic bombing.
It's odd that they couldn't maintain that level of production. I wonder could have what caused that?
>Really fires up those neurons.
If only you had some.
>>32611118
Equip a Pole with one and stand well back.
>>32611050
