>America proud of their super-dumb 20 min endurance non-recoverable drone swarm

China had that for years;

http://www.popularmechanics.com/military/research/a24494/chinese-drones-swarms/?src=social-email

>But at the 11th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition last month, state-owned China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC) claimed to have shattered that record with a swarm of 67 drones flying together.

>"Our swarming drone technology is the top in the world," CETC's Zhang Dengzhou told
America is behind China in swarming drone technology.

In the future, it will be armed drones.

So, what do they do?

I love you China troll. You make me laugh everyday.

They've had them for six months.

America is behind in street shitting technology, but that doesn't mean that India is now pulling ahead.

Daily China shills should be b&
>>

Literally the best ground launch method for a recoverable UAV. The US didnt have that. And still dont.

From the article:

>The Chinese get more drones in the air because rather than having sophisticated chain-driven launchers like ARSENL (top GIF), their drones take off with what are essentially giant rubber bands (at around 40 seconds in). The number of launchers and the time it takes to reload was one of the limits on the U.S. exercise.

And American spies will try to steal Chinese technologies.

To be fair launching your shit with a rubberband is a perfectly good idea

For years the Soviets used literally fucking trees with matches in them to light their rockets, so if shit went down they could just put up another half of a tree inside the rocket engine within an hour, whereas more complicated systems that fail on launch will probably push back your rocket launch to the next day
>>
>>32604450

The sting was a braided carbon nanotube exterior surrounding a flexible graphene core that enables speed-of-light communications between drones, impossible to hack, and can't be broken by smelly american weapons

>To be fair launching your shit with a rubberband is a perfectly good idea

Eh, springs are better in every way if you can afford them. Rubber bands vary wildly in power with ambient temperature and humidity, and have a limited shelf life, especially when exposed to sunlight or high heat.

>For years the Soviets used literally fucking trees with matches in them to light their rockets, so if shit went down they could just put up another half of a tree inside the rocket engine within an hour, whereas more complicated systems that fail on launch will probably push back your rocket launch to the next day

NASA isn't fucking nuts enough to send someone with a match and some firewood underneath a rocket that just failed to ignite.

Hang around to the end you'll see they left the LED bling in.

Otherwise need to come up with a mechanical toss launcher (shouldn't be hard), shrink them a little bit, flocks in the 10,000 range, and make warhead focus anti-personnel. Then its good to go. Fucking terrifying, the future.

How the US MIC does throwaway objects, the .webm.
>>
>>32606247
Reminds me of the apocryphal and probably false story about the space program's writing instruments.

Ballpoint pens require gravity to work, so the first US astronauts had trouble writing notes in their logbooks in space. NASA then invested thousands of dollars into creating lightweight, pressurized and sealed ballpoint pen cartridges with a special thick ink, so they could write upside down, in space, and even under water.

The USSR simply equipped their cosmonauts with grease pencils.
>>
>>32603683

Even if that is the case, who gives a shit? The United States can't be expected to beat their strategic rivals in every single area imaginable. Of course China and Russia are going to find niches in which they have superiority.

Drone swarms and mini drones in general may very well have a significant role in future conflicts. However, I'd be wary to place too much stock in a system that can be taken out with a 12 Gauge loaded with birdshot.
>>
>>32606769
It is false, pencils interfere with the air filters and having broken tips flying around is not very nice. It's kinda like the toilet story in space, you'd think throwing your waste away is the ingenious solution but at orbital speeds frozen pee is deadly (especially to solar panels).
>>
>>32603683
