It's nothing more than a range toy/backpacking rifle.
If you're cool with that, yeah. It's the easiest for my noguns friends to shoot. Teach her to use the sight. It does not go without saying.

Ammo won't go as quick, and can work on disaplin and marksmanship

collapsability and flotation is cool. Trigger is really weird, disconnector is integrated into the trigger itself through some dark stoner sorcery, accuracy is decent enough, sights are primitive as fuck, maybe an optic fits on these newfangled ones, but you won't be able to stow it away with the optic still attached. Reliability varies, feedramp is integral to the magazine, not the gun. Watch out for the barrel nut backing off when used.

Entire gun sits off the centerline of the stock, which is weird.

I like mine a lot (ca. 1980s), but I feel like the takedown 10-22 might be a better choice for most people.

It's a neat gun that's worth getting, but only after you have a 10/22.

Could describe every defensive handgun ever made. Doesn't really apply here any more than it does with handguns in general.

its essentially an emergency blanket. fine if you are in a survival situation where you carry what you have and space is limited but you wouldnt go home and sleep in it when proper blankets are available.

I had an AR-7 once. Worst fucking gun I've ever owned. If your sister is a teenager or older then start her on a H&R Sportster and if she's a child start her on a Crickett., if you want something that's more fun to shoot find a lever-action .22 and if you want a survival gun then get a .22/.410 or a .22/20ga combo gun.
