Looks a bit small for a Dutch Veld 6 field artillery shell. Maybe a Veld 7. What is the diameter of the neck?

The absolute best thing you can do is drink beer from it, used artillery shells are perfect for that.

57mm is a very common caliber. Looks like this one is from sometime between 1920 and 1950.

Just try to google what case lenghts was used by dutch 57mm weapons and you should be able to figure it out.
