The design does not make much sense for India.

They would have been better off with a medium tank that could operate in either high elevations, or jungle environment.

This is too heavy for either. What were they thinking?

Yes, it is only that. The T-90s are even built in India, so they don't even have the local production argument.

Nobody knows a thing about it. But the fact that it is utterly XBOXHUEG! despite having not a single feature you don't meet in smaller packages in other MBTs allows us to make the assumption the engineering is unoptimized as fuck, so probably not too great of a tank. But India wants to learn to make tanks as well as planes and pretty much everything, so there's that. It's a transition design at best while their engineers improve.
