I have a picture in my phone of the rifle sitting on the hood of my car in the parking lot I did the deal in. I got mine in 7.62x54r and with a 23" barrel for a faux Dragunov style rifle that's better than a PSL

It shoots great and really is a tackdriver. With the DTK-2 brake the recoil is less than a WASR's. The only downside to the 7.62x54r Vepr is the shitty aftermarket magazines.

I too absolutely love how my Vepr shoots. It doesn't have any muzzle device on it, so it gets a nice fireball and spark going sometimes. Even with irons I would certainly rate mine as a tackdriver, as well. Cant wait for the PSO to get here.

Around $1000 for a good safe that will hold 20 guns ish.

You can get a good safe for less but it will be much smaller. I would flat out stay away from the cheap safes. Liberty makes great safes of all sizes at fair prices. Mine was about 1500 by the time I had installed the lights, dehumidifier and network hardware. I also keep a networked 5tb hd inside to back up my data and keep it safe from fire.

First of all, I don't like heavy ball ammo at all. I don't like how it shoots, and it has worse reactions on targets down range vs light ball moving faster. With one exception, ice.

Price isn't an argument that holds any weight on which is better. Rarer guns cost more, get over it. I don't think any less of mosins just because they've almost trippled in price since I got mine.
