US Marines are infantry shock troops with their own logistics and support chain. In coordination with the Navy, their expeditionary units provide force projection across the globe.

USMC's infantrymen have superior training and/or morale and/or mindset, as they're more prized in post-service security/contractor work than LEOs and non-Marine infantry.

To me, personally, they appeal in a way that they are able to operate independently of Air Force and Army, as such if there ever arises an issue of global treason in AF and Army, Navy + Marines could stand up to them due to their non-reliance on them.

Lost. The only situation this is true is a dead end security job where the hiring manager is another washed up jarhead.

Who would you hire for your PMC if no SOF staff is applying
>US Marine with awards for combat deployment who participated in actual fighting.
>US Soldier who, at best, defended a sandcastle of a FOB somewhere in the mountains.
>Mid-sized city LEO, non-federal
>>
>>32593273
LEO hands down, I would want someone with civilian experience and not indoctrinated. They have more time behind a desk, writing reports, and traditional security work than the average joe. Wouldn't take much to train them up on other areas.

Also those selections are a bit misleading and show you naivete. You can get a CAR for launching mortars, and plenty of paratroopers with other cool guy training have done nothing but pull security.
>>
>>32591241
True. It takes several years to grow a good technician. I've trained many. Conscription turned into a disaster we should not repeat.

And that's why you don't own a PMC. You're literally ready to pay for a LEO to get numerous paid close protection courses and weapon trainings to amount to USMC's boot camp and advanced schools (prohibitively expensive) just because he can write reports (something any NCO or CO can do, in Marine corps as well).

So instead of picking the best option of a Marine NCO with both combat experience and management experience, you decided to went full retard contrarian.
>>
>>32593978
You're retarded, straight from the largest PMC (DynCorp) for a security position in Kandahar:

Knowledge & Skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Team-oriented and treats others with dignity and respect
Proficient in Microsoft Office software
Knowledge of DOD Antiterrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) requirements, interview and investigative techniques, and preparing written reports of security incidents
Biometric role requires general knowledge of network integration and peripheral devices of automated data processing equipment

Experience & Education
Minimum two (2) years of security operations, physical security, and/or AT/FP experience working in a hostile environment, including at least one (1) year conducting formal inquiries regarding loss, criminal acts, or violations
Prefer experience in US military police, Air Force Security Forces, civilian law enforcement, BATS, and/or military intelligence
High School Diploma or equivalent
Prefer Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in security-related field such as physical security, security management, criminal justice, AT/FP, business, or political science

In case you missed it

Your idiocy impresses me, now go and look at some high risk contracts and see requirements there.
>>
>>32594565
Keep moving them goalposts brother, gone are the days of PMCs getting into firefights, they're for bitch details now. Speaking of, y'know Blackwater targets people with LE experience for their executive protection now? They're just that much better at interfacing with the public and routine details. Even the maritime section is waning, shipping companies are just electing to have their sailors weapons trained. Even the Seafarer's union has in-house anti-terrorism training.

Only high-speed work is going to be directly for an agency, a la GRS, and they won't slum with your average grunt. Get fucked guy.
>>
>>32594680
Goalposts? Retard, US Marine qualifies perfectly for the vacancy you listed, since
>Military Police
>Military Intelligence
are MOS that Marine can have AND have combat experience AND/OR be an NCO.

You virtually picked a parking lot security position to try and demonstrate... something? Try again.
>>
>>32594722
Go back to your first post where you stated Marine infantry is prized over LEO and non-Marine (Army) infantry for security/contractor work.

Then I debunked it. Here is another one then, since you want more high speed and risk. Company is Academi, position is 'Protective Security Specialist / Designated Defensive Marksman'.

Job Requirements
U.S. Citizen
Level 3 English proficiency (see Exhibit A)
Valid current U. S. passport
Must meet PSS qualifications
Must have graduated and posses evidence of completion of a sniper/DDM sharpshooter program issued by a military, law enforcement, or security (government or private sector) training program of suitable complexity and quality to adequate prepare the graduate for successful performance as a WPS DDM, (e.g., USMC Scout Sniper, Special Operations Target Interdiction, FBI HRT/SWAT, DSS MSD, State Police Sharpshooter, NYPD Police Sharpshooter, etc.
Must have served in a DDM role for one (1) year
Must provide evidence of a minimum M4qualifications of 95% (285 out of 300) or better on a DS qualification course of fire which must be the most recent qualification
Must be full time law enforcement SWAT Sniper experience(Not SWAT as a collateral duty)
Must be in good physical condition on the DSS physical fitness test per 3 SENPAI 1975.1

>Must be full time law enforcement SWAT Sniper experience(Not SWAT as a collateral duty)
>>
>>32594851
These LEO positions, by default, already require military service in related MOS.

You debunked nothing by posting a security guard vacancy that can be filled by any idiot, with US Military being only one of the sources for required education.

Now you're posting a vacancy that still places USMC scout snipers on the forefront, comparing them to top tier operators like FBI HRT and SOTI.

Look up Scorpion program too to finish your embarrassment. You played yourself.
>>
>>32594930
>These LEO positions, by default, already require military service in related MOS.
There is no correlation. You can be on a local deputy force and get into SWAT and what not without prior service.

>US Military being only one of the sources for required education.
Obviously the opportunities are more ample in the LE world.

Your just ignoring the reality of the situation bud, the environment that these contractors are going to be in is more conducive to a typical LE job than the typical grunt experience. The rules of engagement are much more sensitive.

And about the Scorpion program, did I not say the only high-speed postings left are directly for agencies and not PMCs? Get real guy.
>>
>>32595087
Scorpion is off-sourced to a contracting firm, just like CIA GRS OGA and whatever. CIA doesn't hire people themselves for these things, neither is NSA.

This pretty much, I think the problem with the Marines today is that while our mission (Amphibious Warfare) made sense in the last century, we're kind of obsolete in the modern battlefield.

Today the Army has amphibious capabilities, they've had amphibious capabilities since WWII and got pretty good at it with their amphib ops in Europe and all across the Pacific.

Honestly, if SOF didn't exist and if disbanding the USMC is out of the question, make it go back to what they used to do.

Guard ships, Embassies (which we do already), punitive actions and raider type missions, throughout most of the 1800s and early 1900s that's all the Marine Corps did.

I;m not ragging on the USMC, I'm proud to have been a part of it but you have to admit that we're not being used properly, we've been doing missions that the Army should be doing for the past 10 years.

The way Ive5had it described to me is that we are now used to assault and break and enemy, then the army is supposed to come in and occupy the area insuring it stays ours while the marines move on to a new area.

Generally though I agree. However I do believe that MEUs should stay as they provide so much to not just the U.S. everything from hunting pirates, invading countries, to building reliefe stations, and assisting countries after a crisis.

Lol. Look up Milton Friedman and his arguments against conscription.

Having a draft means the government will just throw soldiers at a problem, knowing they have an almost limitless supply of them. Having to get soldiers to enlist voluntarily forces the military to develop superior tactics and strategies, other than just marching millions to their deaths.
