>high impact polymer
>space age polymer
When will this meme die and we just start calling this shit plastic again? Seriously. I saw a guy with sunglasses at the range the other day with a plastic AR15 lower. I started a conversation with him and when I said "plastic lower" his expression froze and he said somewhat angrily "it's polymer, not plastic". Also why do assholes at the range always wear sunglasses?

Plastic frame doesn't sound as good ad polymer frame.

10/10 marketing ploy

You could make a wood lower and call it polymer though

I'm not white I'm a cacausuoidameriberg, respect my pronouns!!!!!!
>>
>>32579551
Because calling a polymer lower plastic is misleading.
>>
>>32579763
but polymer is plastic anon
>>
>>32579860
Wood is made of polymers
>>
>>32579866
But it's not wood... It's plastic.
So every plastic is a polymer, but not every polymer is a plastic..
But these ones are

why do people call my plastic christmas tree fake?

Why do people call my aluminum Christmas trees fake?

>polymer lower plastic is misleading.
How is calling nylon plastic more misleading than calling it a vague ambiguous term such as polymer? DNA is a polymer.

I'm not even trashing polymer frames right now. Even metal frames try and be vague by calling everything "alloy" or "steel" as if steel wasn't an alloy, or your steel pot is a perfect gun metal.

Why do people call my palm tree Christmas tree fake?

I don't see the big deal. If a product breaks under normal installation/use, unless it's ddi, I can't see a business not replacing said product.

I think its a pride thing, i have no problem with my grandpa calling my Glock 34 plastic.

>>32579551
>Also why do assholes at the range always wear sunglasses?
Because the sun is out?
>>
why does polymer trigger you LARPing tryhard autists so hard
>>
People get insulted by "plastic"? Who cares, it works?
>>
>>32579979
Because when you say plastic people think of water bottles and cheap chinese goods, not nylon.

high impact polymers are certainly either stiff af molecules like aramid (which is armomatic polyamide) or stiff matrices which are given impact strength by blending them with certain amounts of rubbers or they can also refer to copolymers with certain concentrations of flexible chain parts which form microdomaines that act similar to the blends with a matrix and particle-like structures in it that are able to take up energy

It's more of a not wearing ignorance like a badge of honor.

see clips
>>
>>32579551
unrelated question, but why do people trash plastic/polymer lowers? are they that much worse or something? of all the parts of an AR15, the lower receiver seems like it would be the part that wears out last.
>>
You're all pedantic autists, it's just marketing
