Will we ever see anything like this gun ever again?
>>
Nope, it was an evolutionary dead-end.

>you will never ever get to shoot this gun
why live?
>>

Whats so great about it other than being rare?
>>
>>32566877
Being a free floated semi-auto bullpup. 300wm. But mostly it's rare and some people think it looks cool. It's kinda interesting and I'll say it's cooler (and wildly more accurate)than the SVD, but it's in the same circle as the SVD and VSS. Cool because it's unobtainable

There is a company that makes kits for 10/22s that make it look like a WA2000 though
>>
How hard would it be for either Walther or a third party to start up a small production run of new rifled?

Fuck, for that matter, why isn't there some domestic manufacturer of SVD's?
>>
>>32567452
WA2000s, like Pythons and P7s were just expensive as fuck for huge companies to manufacture. So basically nil. With the SVD, why even bother. Real ones are barely expensive M1A tier and people here are pretty happy to have converted VEPRs in the US.

Every time someone mentions building something on /k/ it comes with the fantasy that the shit will magically be affordable

Pretty cool looking. The philips head screws and wood are nice touches.
>>
>>32566877
It was in a video game that they played when they were kids.
>>
>>32570066
And also on a movie and anime they watched when they were kids.
>>
>>32567432
I know ironwood designs had one for a while, but I can't fucking find a link to it now.

It was an $800 kit, though.
>>
>>32566877
It looks cool and, for the early 90s, was pretty decent (if reports of its performance are to be believed).
>>
>>32567452
Costs too much.
>>32567502
Real SVDs start around $4000 (if you consider a TIGR a SVD I mean).

An accurate, semi-auto bullpup rifle chambered in a large caliber?

Almost certainly.

A *hand-crafted* bullpup designed from the ground up for repeatable semi-auto accuracy?

Not very likely at all.

Basically this gun, as well as the PSG-1 were Walther and H&K's respective answers to the Munich Massacre incident, where Islamic terrorists killed a bunch of people at the Munich Olympics, and the police couldn't get their bolt-action rifles to fire fast enough to stop the executions or some such rot.

The result was that the two largest German firearms companies produced semi-auto snipers to fill the new role. The PSG-1 was based on an accurized G3 platform. The WA2000 was a new design from the ground up. Both were insanely expensive.
>>
Doesn't like the head of Walther USA own a few dozen of these?

Earl J. Sheehan jr. of Earl's Repair Service.

He will HAPPILY sell you one for the low, low price of $75,000.

Free shipping included of course : )

The snipers in Munich had G3s.
The problems was, they weren't snipers, they were normal beat cops.
Standard sniper rifle back then was the Stey SSG69, but then again, the snipers weren't snipers so they were handed G3s.

What shot out piece of garbage did you shoot (or probably not shot)?

>>32570329
