I'm proud to present the completed concept sketch of the PL-9.

> There is a video on the PLT FB showing the action cycling, feeding from a mag, and feeding through the breech; as well as a basic feature TL;DR:

https://www.faceboo.com/PLT-736390326516854

(add the "k" back into the url, it won't let me post it)

If the CX4, P90, and a "Brass Eagle Eradicator," fucked and had a PCC love child, it would be this gun.

Thanks again for the support, this is going much faster than I had anticipated; and that is a good thing. Special thanks to Ace & 4x4T.

Why was the last thread deleted? Anyway I've been following this for a while and I've been excited, keep it up. I really dig the design, but I'm the anon that asked about a ban state stock, so whenever that's out I'll be excited to see it. Good luck!

Probably for mentioning donations.

Yes, it will be available for purchase in NY/CA

Thanks man, it will be out sooner than later!
>>
Is there a reason you are making this a rifle and not a pistol? or "pistol"?
>>
my dick is already hard. op you're doing great things.
>>
>>32561965

Yes, there is actually. Pistols aren't accurate, especially as heavy as this one would be (it wouldn't really be that much lighter as a pistol), and it needs to be as accurate as it can be.
>>
>>32561997

That dog is about to take what's his. Thanks m8

Grip looks uncomfortable.
>>
>>32562029
For the price point that grip looks comfy as fuck.
>>
>>32562029
>>32562053

This is a concept sketch. I will just say ergonomics are currently being tested now.

The grip will not be bare. The grip cover we are using is pretty rad.

>Pistols aren't accurate
Nigger, what?
>>
>>32562221

I was generalizing, homie. Does it take more practice to shoot a pistol or a rifle at some measure of distance?
>>
Will the stock be interchangeable with after market parts?
>>
>>32561667
How expensive is this supposed to be? I havent been following, so what caliber will this be?

Pls recommend Afrikaans music, like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_-KQeyJr2I
>>
>>32562303

Watch the Youtube video.

You can put whatever you want on the rail, and it will take any type of 9mm glock mag. The laynard post can be used as a vertical foregrip post if you live in a free state. ( I need to check on whether or not you can have that in CA/NY)
>>
>>32562379

Watch the Facebook video.

I don't know a lot of 80's Afrikaans music. I listen to a lot but that probably came out right before apartheid ended so there were a lot of changes in pretty much everyting, even music. The end of an era. Does that make sense?
>>
>>32562379

I can recommend you some baller new Afrikaans music and really old Voortrekker stuff if you like.

Praat jy Afrikaans?
>>
>>32562382
I meant that the whole stock can come off and easily be replaced

dope. I'll probably pick one up for the hell of it eventually.

Je ne le parle pas. Please recommend new music or Voortrekker

>$100 rifle
I hope it doesn't explode. That's less expensive than a decent pair of dress shoes

Your typical glawk fordy has an effective range of 50 yard.

Lengthen the barrel to carbine length and you add 100 yards you're now able to add lead to people a football field and a half away from you.
>>
>>32562632
I'd say 50 is expert range with a pistol for a reliable hit on a live target. Anything over 15 yards for a moderately trained cop/soldier is super rare under stress. Although certain pistol calibers are better at range they tend to be obscure or old. A carbine can 100 yards in combat in the hands of conscript.
>>
Why'd you upload this to Facebook and not YouTube? You do know about Facebook's banning of gun posters, right?
>>
>>32562415
Are the kits still available? Getting it delivered through an FFL takes the shine off and increases the cost by about 50% to the consumer

Tbh you should just make a dead simple closed bolt pipe gun in 9mm, using common parts from the hardware store, and release the plans online. This stock looks needlessly complex, and when the habbenings begin I want to be able to churn these out in my basement.
>>
>>32563669
There are plenty of guns designed by actual engineers that are 'expedient'.
>>
>>32563692
Only one I can think of is the Luty. Also the 3D printed Luty, was it called the Shuty?

Basically every WW2 submachine gun.

>>32563692
They're either needlessly complex, shit, don't have easily obtainable parts, or don't have detailed plans. Oh, and they're all open bolt. If this guy put his energy into detailed, easy to understand plans for a closed bolt gun made entirely of simple, cheap parts found almost anywhere on earth, that'd be a bloody revelation.
>>
>>32563724
Except the volkssturm weapons I'm not sure of any that weren't made with full machine shops. Maybe the Owen which I've heard sourced parts from smaller machine shops, but those were still actual businesses.

This guy gets it. Open bolt is no bueno, and most other weapon plans are "home buildable," as a project. That doesn't mean it's fast to make, or as simple as it could possibly be.

I won't lie, there are components of this weapon that I engineered over a very long time in my head, things I'm sure have never been done before.
>>
>>32563838
Will kits still be available? fuck paying money for an ffl transfer that will cost as much as the gun
>>
>>32563780

Machine shop is a relative term. If you have lots of people and some tools you can make a production line. Give me 100 Poles/Chinese/w/e who will do whatever I say and I could make them make the tools to make the guns, and then make the guns.

>>32563788

I won't charge any FFL fees if I'm not required to by law, or it will be like 10 / 20 bucks or some shit.
>>
>>32563838
>"look at me i did so good engineering"

That stock is illegal in California you retarded nigger.
12276.1 (a) Notwithstanding Section 12276, "assault weapon" shall also mean any of the following:

(1) A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any one of the following:
(A) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon.
(B) A thumbhole stock.
(C) A folding or telescoping stock.
(D) A grenade launcher or flare launcher.
(E) A flash suppressor.
(F) A forward pistol grip.

That stock violates the thumbhole stock ban.
>>
>>32563870
If it's a complete gun you cannot ship it someone's door you need to send to their local FFL to do a background check. Their local FFL will charge a fee from 10$ to 100$ to to this most charge about 45$. They charge the fee, not you

Have you ever bought a gun online? Please tell this isn't news to you. You also know all guns and ammo have inbuilt taxes on them for conservation purposes in the US right. Do you have a accountant who knows the gun industry?

If this was firing .22 out of a PVC round, you wouldn't be saying it would blow up, would you? No, you wouldn't. It would eventually crack, but the concern is unfounded.

Correction: 45 people, now.
>>
>>32565440

It's from the ATFs own website

https://www.atf.gov/n/n/n/sites/default/files/media/2015/11/nfa-aow.jpg

"Exempt with 18" barrel and shoulder stock"

Basically if your rifle is the same size as a legal shotgun it can be smoothbore. The AOW thing is for smoothbore pistols.

Smooth bore barrels for .22 shotshells are also a thing, no NFA restrictions:

Anon literally what the fuck
I was fine with you playing gunsmith up to now and learning engineering the old fashioned way but WHAT.
Do you know what a pressure vessel is? Do you know what planes of stress you're going to be seeing?
The primary stress is going to be σ(θθ), or hoop stress. And the UTS is most definitely used for failure criteria.
I honestly suggest you find a book on machine design fundamentals (Von Mises criteria, cycle life, failure modes, stress concentrations and so forth), because I am honestly convinced that you are in risk of losing life or limb. Particularly when you'll start dealing with 5.56 or other high pressure rounds- that stuff doesn't fuck around.
Please be careful, I'd hate for this project to die or for antigunners to use shit like this as an excuse.

"Not anyone that has been really following this"

Poisoning the well fallacy

"I find myself feeling"

Subjective

" uncle Sam's green machine"

go on...I'm listening, why do you think this?

"within tolerance"

Not to nitpick, but tolerances are set by the manufacturer, which I am.

Thank you for the wishes of luck.

>>32565472

No, I didn't miss it at all. I don't subscribe to the idea that you have to be "nice" to people who are obviously not here to join a productive conversation.

I watched my parents do that for 15 years in their business, and it was cringey as fuck.

People would almost spit in their face and they would just take it like nothing happened. No. Not happening with me.

I'm the nicest guy in the world, but I treat people as I am treated. End of story.

>>32565478

You can count.

>>32565485

Wow, we were trying to be on the side safe, obviously it's not smart to do something like that if you aren't completely 100% sure.

If I can find a letter, I will do that for sure!

Thanks man.

"Particularly when you'll start dealing with 5.56 or other high pressure rounds- that stuff doesn't fuck around."

I have uttered the exact same thing on multiple occasions. Notice how we are using a low pressure casing.

"Please be careful"

If it was any other cartridge, I would certainly say you were right. Relax man. It will be ok, really.

Or he could just buy a 9x19 barrel blank.

http://www.gmriflebarrel.com/9mm-blank-9mm-raw-blank-17-x-1-1-10/

First google result. 1:10 twist, 17" long and 1" round so he can turn it down to whatever profile he wants. 38$.

If there's ONE component you should absolutely splurge on, it's the barrel.

You legitimately seem retarded or intellectually incapacitated in some way, I'm not trolling you or being a dick just pointing out my observations. You seem genuinely confused to why people are concerned about the saftey of a home made striker fire gun made from potentially unsafe materials

>>
>>32565732

No, I'm just not open to group think. 9mm causing a deadly failure is laughable. By the way, it would happen to me seeing as how I'm the one who is going to be testing it. It's not your concern, I will put thousands of rounds through one before anyone touches it.

>I'm not acting like anything dude. You clearly are getting emotional about a Vietnamese Basket Weaving Forum. My business will fail because I didn't talk to you the way you wanted? Get a grip dude.

You're acting like an asshole. You claimed earlier that you're a nice guy and speak nicely to people who are nice to you, yet even well mannered suggestions are treated as personal attacks and you lash out at people. You're just proving me right with every post, now.

Fuck, you give no warranty for the quality of your work while making unrealistic promises, get pissed when people raise concerns or give suggestions to improve the quality of the product, when reminded that you're hurting your brand by speaking overly brashly to people you just lash out at those people, too. What you do at the beginning of your business becomes your reputation. Forget Rob Arms, at this rate you'll have an uphill climb just to be a Raven Arms or Vulcan.
>>
>>32565828

"even well mannered suggestions"

Like what? Every 5th person being worried that 9mm brass can turn into a Claymore? It can't possibly work, it's fake, this is bullshit, etc, etc, etc? What is your well mannered suggestion? The floor is yours. You are so sensitive it's insane.

did you make a copy the AR7 OP?
>>
>>32565886

Nah, It's not an AR-7. If you check out the FB video you can kind of get a basic overview of what it's about. I'm trying to bring a PCC to the masses, that doesn't look like a brick, and is extremely inexpensive. It's a tall order, but it's well on the way!

>>
>>32565900

I only ask if you ever owned one but the resemblance is uncanny. Not that it's a bad thing, you're trying to hit the same marks Stoner was (cheap, reliable and expedient pistol-caliber handgun or carbine). On that note, it's worth noting that the AR7 can be broken down into it's own stock. Something to consider when you go to actually commit to a stock design.
>>
>>32565935

also this looks cool as fuck OP
>>
>>32565935
The difference is, Stoner was a real engineer. That means he actually had knowledge.
>>
>>32565935

I don't really see much of a resemblance.

The AR-7 receiver is made of castings.
>>
>>32565925

Yeah it was a decent troll. I never got upset but it was an A for effort. I liked the wide variety of troll types. Outrage, concern trolling, language policing, even some economic trolling.

>>32565935

I've never owned one, no. Well I appreciate the comparison, I joke that I'm making an AR-15 of an AR-15, but would never imply I am a C.S. haha.

Glad you think so man, I'll share the CAD soon enough on the FB page, there are more updates there than here if you want to follow along. Thanks for the support.

OP is a faggot. But for the sake of being nice I'll let him know what he should use. 4140 for the bolt and barrel, 1080 for non-important shit. You can buy buttons to do your own rifling but you'll need at least a shop press.

If you could ECM rifle barrels for cheaper than you can buy them in bulk other companies would have been doing that years ago. Most manufacturers don't rifle barrels themselves. They buy blanks from places like Green Mountain. OP needs to follow convention. Look at other firearms. What materials do they use? What is the typical hardness for that component? How much weight/mass do they have in the bolt?

From what I could tell he was planning on etching before realizing that that's idiotic and moved on to ECM.
The sheer ghetto involved in the barrel is what really worries me.
