So I am asking for a friend but we need help identifying a rifle. It was bought by his grandfather at an auction and it was advertised as a Swedish Mauser. But, this rifle shoots 7x57 instead of the 6.5 round.
We think it might have been one that was exported and bored out but not sure. There are very few markings but I'll post all the pictures I can but if we can get a definitive answer on what it is that would be awesome.
Here's a picture of the receiver.
Side shot.
I have no idea why its rotating the pictures. Fuck it dumping more pictures. This is the udder side.
This is the last one he sent me so far, but he can send more if you require a particular angle. We did a lot of research today at work but we couldn't for sure say what it is. It's definitely been sportarized but still we should be able to nail what model etc.
Someone has installed a new barrel on it. I wouldn't have bought it. It's some bubba's piece of shit.
Probably Spanish M1916, not Swedish.

Nothing about this rifle looks like a Swede

I wouldn't say bubba did it. He does it in mah .308 or theeerdy aught siiix. I wouldn't put it past someone to of fucked with it after a rebore though.
The guys grandfather bought it like in the pic for under $200 so its not a waste.

Okay I did some digging and I think youre right. Probably made in 1924 too. You are the dog, dog. It just sucks that years and years ago someone sportarized it but then again, my buddy wouldn't have a semi decent hunting rifle if his grand pappy didn't buy it for so cheap. So all is well that ends well.
Thanks again /k/! This is the second time you guys saved me.

7mm Mauser is a very popular bubba round.
