It's semi-auto, where is the fun?

>be me
>full auto M249 range south carolina 2012 july
>papapapapapapapappapapap
>smoking gun suddenly jams
>drill instructor pushes kids helmet into the dirt before lifting feed tray because these guns like to blow up cartridges when hot
>sure enough a cartridge explodes in the drill instructors face
>brass and projectile fragments go through his right hand
>he screams
>drill instructor opposite of him has black carbon covered face and is laughing so hard he is crying
>private with face in dirt is shook
>gun is taken away
good machinegun 10/10 would jam again

Not if the Hughes amendment is removed. But one can only dream.

I'm a Marine and the first time I touched an M249 was in SOI where there are no drill instructors so I'm already suspect of this story but honestly I never had jamming problems in any of the weapons I handled. My only issue was the hump weight and to a lesser extent the size of it, nothing compared to that monstrosity the M203 which I hated carrying because it was so stupid, would rather carry an M79 with a separate M16 any day over that shit. Also not called private until you've earned that rank after graduation, before that you're officially called recuit but more commonly known as peter puffer or jizz for brains.

Just stick a repeal to the Hughes Amendment in some bill, that's what Hughes did to get is bullshit passed.

Army tends to call their recruits privates at basic unlike marines. Also, I only remember the 249 after mct because budda-budda jam lol

I've watched that happen many times, it never stops being funny, especially when it happens to a female.
Why do you keep making this thread daily? On one hand, the M249S has already been on the market for like a year now so this thread is worthless, on the other hand you can get a semi RPD for $2K and a Shrike for $3K, so why would you ever pay over twice that for this POS?

if it were a M240B i would buy that shit in a heartbeat

>semi-auto

My local price gouging LGS has one for right under 14k. I'm wondering how much dust it's going to collect before it's sold.
>>32561022
the NFA will be repealed because your LGS has no concept of moving inventory/ cost of inventory just sitting.
Its also probably just a conversation piece for them with a "Buy it if you dare"
>>32559296
what did he mean by this?
>>32559897
>blow up cartridges when hot
It's called cooking off and literally every automatic weapon is susceptible. Even open bolt weapons like the Minimi if it happened to 'jam' while out of battery feeding a new round.
>>32559307
its full auto if you wiggle the trigger assembly
If you are going to spend 7k on a semi auto machine gun clone, why not save a bit more and get a PKM?
Considering there's talk of magazine capacity restrictions in the EU (to be voted on later this year), it's possible that semi belt feds become popular since not a single proposed law speaks about belts. ;)
