Never going to happen. One reason the communist party is still in charge is because the chinese are afraid that the ensuing vacuum would split China up. So better to keep them around over fear of China possibly splitting up. Keeping China unified is the number one priority for all Chinese, hence why they are so rabid over Taiwan and Hong Kong back in the day.

In the near term it would start with Trump instituting his tariff, which would destroy China's economy. Beijing would again try to control markets by banning investors from selling, leaving them with toxic assets. As investors go broke (say, due to their homes becoming worthless as buyers dry up) banks have a cash-flow crisis which would result in a 1929-style crash (ie banks simply become insolvent, depositors loose their savings) or Beijing tries to print their way out. Either way as a result the coastal cities require a much greater military presence as suddenly there's a lot of unemployed educated people.

In the long term, even with falling pollution (due to less economic activity), China has to contend with increasing desertification of farmland which could spur their own Dust Bowl. This would cause food security problems and more or less self-contain them as they'd be reliant on American food. Or they could go full nork tier and then start invading pacific countries like Imperial Japan did in the 1930s. This would be a traditional, conventional war which the USN itself is constantly preparing for.

The larger issue with China is their total disregard for environmental laws. People shit on America but the Dept. of Agriculture makes sure farmers rotate their crops, install water-saving appliances (ie center pivot systems or greywater systems) and don't destroy the soil or the aquifers. China doesn't do any of that and it remains to be seen what the long term affects are. Coastal waters are heavily polluted to due human waste and factory runoff, making desalination a no go (especially when China can't import nuclear reactors from America thanks to the lack of an Ex-Im reauthorization). Then there are things like the Brahmaputra River dams which China could use to cut off water to India.
