Enter the Kniper. At a mere $108 it is not quite as over priced. Until you consider it is made of 420 steel. A softer and harder to sharpen steel than the much cheaper 440c. I can only imagine they chose it knowing their demographic. You see in addition to containing such features as a fork, a 1 inch saw blade, a wire breaking notch, and a fire bow bearing this is a knife you can smoke with. Part of it has been hollowed out to form a very small pipe. Not large or useful enough to ever smoke out of and not without fucking up any heat treatment, but the kind of thing a hardcore stoner would buy to show of to his friends and then forget about.

I am torn. On one hand they are incredibly ugly. On the other hand the ergonomics feel great for me. Can use it innawoods all day, can use it wet, just fits the shape of my hand or can be wrapped in a way that does.

At least that has a workable cutting edge. Plus, correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't those meant as dive knives that could be used to fight off sharks? I wouldn't necessarily call that a situation that deserves it's own piece of kit, but at least for that purpose the knife should work as intended.

It's very effective for its very niche role as a dive knife for shark defense. The pressured gas is meant to create damage to the shark's internal organs and apparently also has the side effect of limiting blood from pouring out of the shark. Still have yet to see one in the hands of a dive master though
