10/22 thread.
Post babby's first semi-auto.
I modified the original stock so I could free float a bull barrel.

Does that mag work well?
Tactical inc makes the best mags, but theyre expensive.
Fun gun.

Just picked up a 10/22 for Christmas. I read this article http://www.recoilweb.com/5-ruger-10-22-upgrades-89931.html and I was going to get the volquartsen extractor, firing pin, and bolt release, and the ruger bx trigger as well. I was looking at getting a boyds stock, green mountain bull barrel, and a leupold rimfire scope. Is there any other upgrades I should consider? Or is there any reason I should not get the upgrades I have listed? This is not my first gun, and I have been shooting for a few years now.
>>32548102
Gonna need some sources for those mags
>>32548205
I own >>32548102
and I can tell you right now if you are planning on just doing some offhand plinking at most you might want to just skip the bull barrel. It makes the gun really front heavy. Also instead of a scope maybe just tech sights instead. The factory iron sights are dog shit if you don't already know.

Just after I added the bipod and sling. I also got an automatic bolt release from Volquartsen and the BX trigger from ruger. The stock is the magpul x-22
>>32548098
It's a GSG 110rd mag. Works great - I've had zero feeding issues with it. It is fuck all heavy though.
Pb and whey is the only whey for me
Bushnell trs-25
Magpul deluxe target stock
Shitty at plastic bipod
Jwh extended bolt handle
Auto bolt release
Got a paddle style mad release and sling swivels coming in mail

>Freedom Group
>no official 25 round magazines
I've heard the Promag 25 rounder actually work though
>>32549057
idk about 25 round mags but I picked one up for $140 on black friday (it wasnt on sale but I was at the shop for other reasons) and I had heard it was a really nice rifle for the price, plus it being my first firearm it seemed nice, nicer than the 10/22 they had in stock.

The perfect thread for (you)

One of my Tac Incs feeds super well, and the other either double feeds or shoves the round too high and is probably my worst mag.
IDK what the fuck is different about them. Never bothered to adjust them though, not even sure how.
Ask me how much of an idiot I am.
>>32548220
Seriously? Bx25 ruger magazines
>>32549900
He was taking about your nip books in the background.
Nice double-double btw.

begone Homo
>>32547751
A fucking SKS ... just like my first gun was a mosin nagant.
>>32549468
Weird.
Take it apart and put it back together. If you cant see what is wrong, compare it to your good one.
Post pics here, i bet i could spot the problem.
If youre too lazy, tac inc may have a great cystomer service. Theyre expensive enough.
HiI recently obtained a Ruger 10/22 and a Redfield 6x magnification scope (has 5 gold stars on it if that makes a difference.
Since it's a fixed magnification, I tried to get a rail that would allow me to see my original iron sights. It doesn't show in the picture, but the small peep hole does not provide enough room to see the rear sight. I ordered it on amazon, in which the only review stated that it worked for theirs.
I was going to get a different rail so that I could adequately use the sights, but then the thought came to me that I could just drill the recess even deeper so that I could see, but I didn't want to bubba it up.
I'm presented with three options:
1. Bubba the rail so the sight it visible
2. Order a separate rail that DOES work
3. Order new sights that can be seen either through the hole in the rail or in the ring base
I would prefer to order new sights, maybe peep sights. What would you guys suggest?
have my stupid expensive 10/22
>bought a cz instead of this
>safety is already broken
>>32551925
thats the problem with euroshit can't get spar parts
>>32547751
>he fell for the .22lr as your first gun meme
>>32549554
Damn I want to build that for my second 10/22.
>>32552422
Copied it from this guy's rifle, except not a takedown. I think his turned out better.
>>32549554
whats that rail on the top?
>>32552511
Receiver rail is a nodak spud NDS-26.
Scout rail is an Amega 10/22 scout rail.
I actually had a gunsmith drill and tap the barrel for the front sight screw required for the scout rail to mount. Fuck me.
>>32549925
Oh sorry didn't see those were magazines. I don't watch anime I thought they were just pictures
>>32552553
ah.
do those separate rails fit snug together? I'm digging the monolithic look. my 10/22 is essentially stock, save for somewhat better sights and an auto bolt release.
pic unrelated.
>>32552666
Yeah, it all lines up fine. There's a small gap between the two though.
Really, unless you REALLY like the look, just buy one or the other. Probably the NDS-26 is best. Not worth it for the whole package.
>>32552733
>>32552690
I do like the look. call me weird.
I'm wondering if the scout rail will fit a Magpul X-22 stock. reading the product description, it just says "carbine-style" stocks, including folders. not sure what that means.
>>32552746
Say that to my face and not online and see what happens.
>>32552775
You need the barrel band plus barrel-mounted rear sight.
>>32552781
fite me fgt
no but seriously, that just a junker or something?
>>32552802
Kinda. Knew a dude ran a machine shop cut and thread the barrel (this is one of the new models btw), replace the site. The stock got broken when I shipped it off to ruger to fix the trigger they refused to pay for it, so I JB welded it back together. I replaced the trigger group with an old aluminum 70s style.
It runs great. I'm waiting till I have some cash to put a Napa 4003 gold fuel filter on it. Nice little wet work gun, or whatever. I'm sure I had a theme at some point.
>>32549040
I fucking hate those Marlins. Is there anything functionally wrong with them? Who knows, I don't own one. I hate their bolt and magazine though. The bolt on a 10/22 is much easier to work, and the magazine for the Marlins, and to be fair most Savages, are dog shit in a dumpster fire.
Can my Marlin play too? I just made a sling for it, but found out it doesn't fit in my sling swivels once they shipped, so I'll be making another one.
>>32552821
What state do you live in?
>>32552868
What's wrong with the Marlin mags? I like that the 10/22 mags are flush with the stock, but I've never had any issues with the Marlin ones.
>>32552451
where can I get the rail?
>>32553784
None of your fucking buisness buckwheat.
>>32553648
How do you like your Model 60? And what year is it? I've been deliberating between a Model 60, a Henry AR7, or a removable mag fed bolt action Marlin. I know they're all very different guns, but I'm a poor college student.
>>32548226
Not him, but I think I spoke with you in a another threads months ago. You used the exact same phrase for the factories sights when we talked lol. Been meaning to get the tech sights myself, I hate the factory sights, the pin holding in the rear sight started to walk out I can move it by pushing with my thumb. Really need to replace them lol.
>>32552733
That looks terrible. Why didn't you get a folding stock from underfoldarms?
>>32554008
I absolutely love it.
A while back I went shooting with a good friend and he brought one, immediately bought one when I got home because of how fun and cheap it was to shoot.
>>32554008
Marlin 60s are great. 795s a shit, those magazines are flimsy. I've never shot the Henry though.
Get the 60 if you're not interested in aftermarket, get the 10/22 if you are.
>>32557946
I like the look and capacity of the 60. I'm a leaf, and we can't buy mags that hold more than 10 rounds for the 10/22 specifically because
>muh assault .22 rifle
