37mm Launcher, yea or nea?
>>
>>32547669

At that point better to have a orion flare gun.
>>
>>32547669
But it's heavy and the soldiers are already over encumbered.

We already have hand grenades and mortars what would be the practical purpose of this thing?
>>
>>32547669
Just buy a real 40mm grenade launcher, fag
>>
>>32547669
no
>>
>>32547669
You're better off getting a Masterkey.
>>
>>32547669
It's your money so do what ya want

>What is a SBS

>>32547702

Artillery/Mortar takes a long time to aim, and it not a mid-range munition. A grenade launcher fills the gap between infantry hand grenades, and mortar. What's the point of a DMR? Or a medium machine gun?
>>
>>32547669
They are gay. I can see wanting one just from the "feels cool" standpoint, but they are pretty much worthless and make you look like a try-hard turbo-larper.

In the few, very rare circumstances where having a flare launcher and a rifle in the same situation are worthwhile, you'd probably be better off stashing a flare pistol in your pack.

If you want it simply because it looks/feels cool, get an airsoft 203 replica and attach it since you're going to be gay either way.
>>
How effective are those grenades? Say, compared to whatever hand grenade a soldier has today in terms of lethality and compared to the range/accuracy of a mortar.
>>
>>32548087
They're similarly effective, but obviously the launcher has more range.
>>
>>32548087

>>what is a Destructive Device?

Only used for flares, smoke, and bird bombs
>>
>>32548087
You don't launch grenades out of a 37mm unless you are trying to catch a felony or three.

Explosive devices like that require approval and a $200 stamp per device (grenade).

You launch flares out of a 37mm, which is why they are worthless and gay.
>>
>>32548111
Really? I would think that the charge would be smaller than a hand grenade and the fact that it's not spherical would effect shrapnel dispersion.

>>32548115
I'm talking about the grenades.
>>
>>32548119
he was talking military senpai
>>
>>32548115
With the appropriate lift charge and burst charge mixed with something like bbs they are pretty effective....wink wink
>>
>>32548156
>wink wink
leave my bird alone you bastard, he won't bark I promise
>>
>>32548156

Oh you ; )
>>
>>32548156
Lift 85 grns of fffg / burst 50 grns fffg should get you some good range
>>
>>32547873

What is Serbu super shorty and ATF clearing it's ok
>>
>>32548554
It becomes and SBS when you attach it to a rifle.

>A grenade launcher fills the gap between infantry hand grenades, and mortar.

what should we use to fill the gap between a grenade launcher and hand grenades?

Has anyone used these for flares/smoke grenades? They sound like a lot of (expensive) fun.
>>
>>32551622
It's a whole lot cheaper to build/reload the hulls than to purchase them already made.

I started off making my own from reload kits. It's even cheaper once realize you can source the individual components separately.
>>
>>32551260

>>
>>32547669

Great if you like shooting for fun and entertainment.

Not so great if you think it's a legitimate tactical accessory.

Not so great if you want the 40mm look. They don't look quite right, not even the old cobray 203 style ones.

A 40mm grenade in a football and an NFL kicker
>>
>>32551718
Can you give an estimate of cost/rd both in materials and your personal time?

Is it fun?
>>
>>32551718
For an added ummmph, I use small home made sugar rocket engines to greater distances. ie. Lift charge to clear the barrel, then a flight motor (sugar rocket) and finally a burst charge / payload.
>>
>>32551736
Fun? Yes, especially on New years and 4th of July.

Not counting the Aluminum shells. I can make most rounds between 3 and 4 dollars each. Time....that's another story. If you enjoy reloading regular ammo; you'll enjoy reloading 37mm. I can make around 25 rounds per hour.
>>
>>32551736
Check out Exotic Firearms on youtube. They have pretty good how to videos. Once you do it a few times you can figure where you can save money. For example the rubber bands and cardboard disks and plugs....I make my own. The rubber bands...I buy orings off amazon. The cardboard tubes can be bought way cheaper from online fireworks suppliers
>>
why don't they make underslung shotguns already? it's what the people really want
>>
>>32551807
>>32551836
It seems really cool. I'll have to squirrel away some funds to get one.

They do, it's called an sbs or aow $200 tax stamp
>>
>>32551943
It's a blast at parties and holidays, but other than that it has no practical purpose...lol

I like to smoke up the neighborhood, launch firework rounds, and breaker rounds. None of my neighbors fuck with me. They all come outside to watch and tell that I'm crazy...lol Texas!
>>
are there any laws against mounting an airsoft grenade launcher to a real ar? those things got fairly cheap and its made out of metal. yeah it would be purely cosmetic but would look neat.
>>
>>32547937
I go hiking with my rifle all the time in the woods and on mountain sides, and having a flare launcher on my rifle would be nice.
>just stach one in my pack
Ok, let me just take out this extra MRE i have to fit a useless peice of junk i dont actually need.
>>
>>32551260
So put a smaller explosive in a less effective launching mechanism. Got it.

I have one but have a very difficult time finding shells online

There isn't a gap. If you want to play this game it could go on forever. What fills the gap between M80's and infantry hand grenades?
>>
>>32554332
At least use APCP have some pride.
>>
>>32547710
Where can i get one?
>>
>>32552714
Watch some videos first. I'm not giving up my load data so you can come back and say I'm the reason you needed reconstructive surgery.

I load mostly smoke and breakers. I make short range rounds and rocket assisted long range rounds.
>>
>>32554338
I prefer to source my ingredients at the local hardware / grocery store for reasons

>>32547873
So you're a no go on getting an NFA weapon.. So what kind of grenades to plan on shooting out of this launcher that aren't DD's?
>>
>>32554618

There are breakers aka flash bang type munitions. Warning...what ever you do...not mix 1 to 2 ozs of steel .177 BBS with you burst charge...wink wink

There are parachute flares and star clusters which can be used for signaling.

Finally, there are smoke rounds. These can be used for signaling or to mask movements.

All of these types of signaling munitions can be loaded as short range <100yds or long range, rocket assisted, ~ 250 - 300 yds.

Grow up OP.
>>
37mm and 40mm launchers aren't really worth it anymore because you can't get CS rounds or diversionaries like you used to. The ATF cracked down on CS and certain Smokes, Diversionaries and Flares
The advantage to 40mm was you could get training rounds relatively cheap, but both calibers now have sub caliber adapters and bee hive .22 shells. You are better served with a masterkey-ish underbarrel shotgun and there is little need to pop a smoke 200m away when you can still sometimes get your hands on military grade hand throwns
>>
>>32555336
Never actually fired an M203 40mm have you? Theyre not as devastating as you think. Quit watching TV and playing Cowadooty...

>>
>>32552187
If you want a flare that badly just tape one to your stock instead of carrying around a heavy ass launcher
>>
>>32547669
>37mm Launcher,
Didn't the ATF recently reclassify those as DDs anyway? Why not just get a proper 40mm if you really want one at that point.
>>
>>32555590
No they did not! It is a "signaling" device. There are, however, rounds classified as DD.
>>
>>32555607
They went after a bunch of flare launchers/signaling devices all the way down until maritime walmart grade stuff but admittedly I never followed up on the article.
>>
>>32552187
You're not a survivalist. You're not going into combat. If you want to look like a faggot carrying a useless 37mm launcher under your gun, by all means, exercise your freedom to be a retarded faggot.
