Pros
-Shorter overall length because of bull-pup design
-better at Urban Combat because able to swing the gun around easier in CQC

Cons
- Shorter Overall length makes it bayonet fighting harder.
- Awkward compared to other rifles.
- Terrible gun at current situations (fighting in afghan mountains) like most rifles in NATO

It's fucking heavy, it can't be used ambidextrously even in a pinch because it'll knock your fucking teeth out (guess the brits wouldn't have an issue). The 20 inch barrel is overkill for newer 5.56 cartridges.

Besides that, it's okay.

As is said in every thread, it's not as heavy as it used to be and it's known as very reliable these days. Always was accurate. New rails, mags and sights were a big upgrade (and reduced weight further). It tucks nicely in to sprint with and aim with.

Still falls down on ease of cleaning though. Classic and oft repeated true fact, always try to take a Murricans cleaning kit if you can. Whether he's aware or not is optional. And for lefties it can be awkward at first until you've had a lot of time with it, for obvious reasons.

But of course this threads gonna go to shit in a second, so I'm just gonna use this as an excuse for a great picture instead.

The L129A1 is fine as one per fire team. Just because of a decade in rural Afghanistan doesn't mean that the original reasons for the move to a 5.56x45 are no longer valid. Though, it does mean that havingsuch a variety of linked and unlinked cartridges for a platoon is undermining the logistics advantages.
