Just gifted these custom grips to my brother for his sig .45. I seldom lurk /k/ but thought you guys may appreciate the work.
They are cast bronze sculpted from green plastalina. I went for a nautical theme, as the weapon was a unit pistol from one of his deployments, "bootleg troop". Has a pirate and crossed Sabres on the top of the slide (not pictured).
That's fucking awesome work. I do think the shell casing in the grip may get in the way, but it could be in that weird area where it would fit.
I unironically think that's awesome. Love the tentacle, but like the other poster wonder if the shell gets in the way of holding the gun.

OP here. I totally agree. It's in the best place it could be to wrap your thumb over top, but it's still uncomfortable an not ideal for extended shooting. He's putting this piece in a shadow box for display though. So I went all out show piece from its inception.

Then it's all good. Clever use of the grip screw on the one side, too.

Thanks. A bit tricky not having the pistol to work from. Atleast I had the stock grips for the dimensions.

bretty neat
if I got something like that from my little bro I'd mount and display it for sure. Just about anything hand-crafted makes for an awesome gift

For a show piece holy fuck thats cool.

Those are pretty badass. DO you work in any other metals? I would love just a plain smooth set in silver for my 1911. Stainless would be ok too.

Sure do. The melting point of silver is only a bit higher than bronze.
Damn. Do you have a website? I know people must ask this shit all the time and back out once you give them a figure after they ask for a quote. I do art myself and understand the work involved. I'm willing to offer $800 for a pair of custom grips for my browning hi power.

stellar craftsmanship. Is that brass inlay for the tooth?

How did you make them?
