They just sent me an email about this new product they will release http://www.fnamerica.com/index.php?cID=2288
>>
I thought this was already out.
>>
now if only a echo trigger will fit in there
>>
>>32538206
It is, I dont really know why there have suddenly been so many threads about it these last few days.
>>
Why anyone would want a LMG in semi is beyond me. Not to mention the objectively worst LMG reliably.

>Belt or magazine fed, except I never see 5.56 belts being sold and the magwells eat magazines, so anything besides STANAGs are fucked.
>Open bolt forcibly converted to closed bolt, some issues will arise by sheer virtue of the gun being made to function a certain way it wasnt supposed to.
>Heavy as fuck for what its worth, a 5.56 that can't even suppress reliably in its civvie form.
>Compared tot he M240 or M2, it was the biggest babby of an LMG and needs to eb treated like a range queen.
>~$9k for something that was shoehorned to take advantage of all the "ISIS Hunters"out there.

>Why anyone would want a LMG in semi is beyond me
Hard to pass up when it's $399 and you already have a drum laying around.
>>
>>32536486
I would buy one of these if FN released the 240 instead of the 249.
>>
>>32538284
The RPK makes sense, though, since it's closed bolt and magazine fed to begin with.
>>
>>32538343
249 is mag fed.
>>
>>32538378
Sure, as an emergency option. It's also still supposed to be open bolt.
>>
>>32538394
What about the Maxim gun? Its closed bolt
>>
>>32538265
Battlefield Vegas runs these guns full auto and has said they have identical reliability to the full auto versions. They're good to go. I'd rather have a shrike though senpai.
>>
>>32538405
Just buy a Title II Maxim.
>>
>>32538411
Well to whoever buys this you must have a fuckton of CLP with you. My experience with the SAW is she needs to be lubed all the fucking time. To someone who has never used one they can be really daunting in terms of reliability, and things like not seating the rounds correctly can lead to a click instead of a bang.

>>32538284
For $400 its not a bad idea at all. For 9k though you might as well get a few ARs with Surefire mags or some other drum mag.
>>
>>32538378
>249 is mag fed
destroys followers
>>
>>32538378
It can be...

But saying that is like a Sith who talks in absolutes. It works best belt fed.

Who knows on this civilian semi auto that's way overpriced.

t. Was a SAW gunner
>>
>>32538451
How about you use a real lubricant instead of CLP shit.
>>
>>32538472
Its all we had famiglia. I wasnt about to go try and order shit when there were gallons of CLP available.
>>
>>32538484
You're telling me nowhere on a military base existed lithium grease and light machine oil?
>>
>>32536486
Battlefield Vegas says you can convert them back to auto by swapping out the BCG.
>>
>>32538519
Interesting but that sounds way too lenient for the ATF.

Yeah....saw is real great...
>>
>>32538451
This. The 249 was an absolute bitch to keep cleaned and would give you all sorts of shit if you didn't treat it perfectly. CLP was fine because you had to pull the thing apart and clean it every goddamn day, even if you didn't fire it because just the residual dust and shit in the air would coagulate and cause problems if you didn't. This all on top of some of the worst special snowflake tools needed to field strip it and get at parts that needed regular cleaning. I usually enjoy weapon maintenance with headphones as a way to decompress and relax, but goddamn I hated taking care of 249s.

I can't imagine anyone legitimately using that thing or wanting that bitch in semi for anything except a collector's item.
>>
>>32538502
Nowhere infantrymen could stow it reliably. Not to mention fudd tier leadership that would have an aneurysm at the sight of that.
>>
>>32538651
I hope the 240b isnt the same way, the way you make it sound is the vietnam m16's were perfectly reliable compared to the saw
>>
>>32538651
There's a reason any SAW gunner worth his salt could disassemble it within a minute. We used to have races.

I got used to covering it with an extra PT shirt to keep dirt out whenever possible.
>>
>>32538688

The 240 is a hell of a lot more reliable than the SAW.
>>
>>32538688
M16s in Vietnam were perfectly reliable, at least as perfectly reliable as a gun can be.
>>
>>32538265
> Belt or magazine fed, except I never see 5.56 belts being sold and the magwells eat magazines,

Urban legend. You can use mags in M249s fine

Learn how to link. Are you that retard from the other week?
>>
>>32538265
You can find belt links online if you actually look. Just cause they're not for sale everywhere like a pmag doesn't mean they're not there.
>>
>>32538723
https://youtu.be/L8NBCPRnKF4

Have a non retarded link, but yes you can safely use mags with M249s, its an old army wife's tale you can't or it will some how eat the followers dispite there being no way mechanically for that to happen.
>>
>>32538735
The other week? No that must have been your boyfriend. You're just repeating bullshit on the same tier of the 5.56 round being designed to wound or M16s being built by mattel toys.

The 240 was a heavy bitch, but you could count on her to be there when you need it.

>>32538781
>M16s being built by mattel toys.
Never heard of this. Pic related?
>>
>>32538885
No, people in Vietnam thought it was a toy because it wasn't a heavy as fuck piece of shit M14.
>>
>>32538885
Supposedly Mattel made the rubber buttstocks for early m16s. I don't know never cared, if they did so what. But that's the toy meme as far as I know.

I carried an m16 and if they did so what. Different anon btw.
>>
>>32538927
>Supposedly Mattel made the rubber buttstocks for early m16s
No. M16A1 stocks are not rubber.
>>
>$9000

You can get a full auto MAC 10 or a Sten for less.
>>
>>32538938
And then you can turn that MAC-10 into a belt fed machine gun.
>>
>>32538929
OK. Well whatever. Didn't carry an m1.

And I said, supposedly. Like its a rumour even if it isn't true.
>>
>>32538979
>rumour
Why are you even here?
>>
>>32539059
Say something real instead of shit posting or go back to your home board. Auto correct faggot.
>>
>>32539086
>auto correcting to non American English
Don't you have some taxes to pay?
>>
>>32536486
>5.56
>17 lbs empty
>semi-auto
Can someone pls explain why one would even spend $50 on this?
>>
>>32539368
same reason /k/ buys any gun, LARP'n
>>
>>32538265
>I never see 5.56 belts being sold
You know what else you never see being sold? Belt fed guns. This isn't a gun for people without resources, goddammit anon apply yourself
>>
>>32538337
No, no you wouldnt. Same either the RPD or PKM kits, same with the Ohio Ordnance guns. The argument the would probably be "what's the point of a .308 that can't be used for precision shooting"

>>32538343
It's not a piston AR ffs
>>
>>32538451
>For 9k though you might as well get a few ARs with Surefire mags or some other drum mag.

Anyone willing to drop 9k on a civi saw probably already has that shit anyway and that argument is always the same.

>>32538651
The difference here is this gun is NEW, not used by a decades worth of grunts with varying degrees of competence and give a fuck
>>
>>32538703
Which explains why FN hasn't scaled down the MAG/240 to replace the 249 or the mk48 right
>>
>>32538938
Neither of which are belt fed, have the same build quality or cool factor as the M249. Why compare it to two of the most basic bitch entry level FAs on the market?
