Redpill me on this gun guys. Thinking about getting the CZ 75 COMPACT as my main handgun. Anyone own one? Will I be able to ccw it?
>>
>>32536344
had one, just traded it. comfy gun but the DA is heavy af and even the SA is nothing but creep.

"crisp" and "distinct break" are the last words id ever use to describe its trigger.

otherwise i liked the gun. there are trigger kits out there too.

>Will I be able to ccw it?
its roughly glock 19 sized so you should be able to
>>
>>32536344
Try one out! I found that the RAMI was a better fit for me. The controls were a little stiffer and lower profile which is advantageous for carry.
>>
>>32536363
Hmmm I almost bought the PCR version at a gun store for 350$ But than I noticed it didn't have a manual safety which is a deal breaker for me.

I've only ever shot a full size cz 75 are the triggers the same?
>>
>>32536440
I didn't know that even existed until now, thanks. I still would prefer the 15 round mag of the cz compact so I wouldn't have to carry a spare mag around like most people do for the single stacks
>>
>>32536506
>external safety on a carry gun
>>
>>32536519
You can use pretty much any 9mm CZ mag in the RAMI, and they make a 14rd one with grip extension. That's the ideal way to carry one imo.

I usually carry a single stack, but I would carry one backup mag regardless because of the possibility of mechanical failure of the magazine (follower binding or spring failing, for example). Additionally, if faced with multiple assailants one mag might not be enough to fight your way to safety or to another weapon. Food for thought.

Those are made to be carried in condition 2, that's why they have a decocker instead.

>>32536584
Necessary if you want to carry condition 1.

desu senpai i dont understand why ppl are still carrying DA/SA guns in 2017. i love a bhp or 1911 for the range for dat SA crispness but striker guns make a lot more sense for CC

if you really want to carry condition 1 get a bhp, cz's are nice but you cant beat the original
>>
>>32536506
>I've only ever shot a full size cz 75 are the triggers the same?
cz triggers are not consistent at all you could have two 75b one would have a great trigger pull rivaling a 1911 and the other a gritty pile of mediocrity
there's alot of variance dont base it off past czs you experienced base it off the specific one you are buying

had one, sold it
great gun, it's just so much heavier than a comparable sized polymer gun for concealed carry

and if you don't intend to conceal it you might as well get a full size
>>
>>32536703
t. never shot an M&P with an apex, glock with a new trigger bar or pretty much any walther

if you like good triggers you wont be buying a cz either
>>
>>32536344
My P-01 was pretty disappointing. Not a bad gun, just mediocre. I'd advise against a CZ personally.
>>
I own a cz pcr its a great gun. People talk them up too much. Think of it has the honda accord of handguns. Reliable fair price but nothing special.
>>
>>32536853
its the same as glock fanboys.
>get babby's first gun
>proceed to go on weeb forum and tell everyone its the second coming of christ
reality is, no gun under 1k is going to be anything worthy of praise, just adequacy

And this gents is how you spot the Häkeln&Kochen and rusty Anchor fanbois.

>I have modify my firearm with up to $300 in materials to make the trigger go from subpar to par
Have done a trigger job on an M&P before, there's no saving them. There is no good Glock trigger, sorry. Best on the market right now is the CCP or P320 imo, but it still doesn't come close to a German P-series Sig (what I consider the standard for a DA/SA trigger).

Of course there are bad hammer-fired triggers too. The older CZs I've shot have been fine. I own a Jericho 941F and it has an excellent trigger. Older Tanfoglio handguns have been great too.

Snarky comments aside, it pays to understand your firearms and be able to tinker with them.
>>32536705
If you carry a SAO handgun (e.g. 1911 or derivative) you will want to carry condition 1.
>>32536868
>no gun under 1k is going to be anything worthy of praise
Money spent on surplus goes a long way. It goes even further if you can do your own gunsmithing. For a new rifle in today's world though I would agree, $1k is the least I want to spend on an AR, AK, precision rifle, etc.

>>
>>32537066
Shot it some on a range in Prague. Muzzle flip is pretty severe.
>>

i dont own a single HK. i have 3 glock, a bhp, a beretta cheetah and a couple old webleys and enfield revolvers

>trigger jobs on poly guns are $300
not every trigger job needs to cost agency or salient money. apex trigger bars are $100.

poly gun triggers are for the most part fine for what they are, especially for $500 or under guns.
>>
>>32537066
its a pretty kawaii gun. the decocker version comes stock with meprolight night sights, so id probably get that instead.
>>
>>32536584
Yes... It will be my 2nd gun ever owned. I have a ruger lc9 right now but want more rounds and solid steel. I want to play it safe with an external safety. Same reason I never got a clock because I really don't want to accidently shoot myself by something touching the trigger. Better safe than sorry..
>>
>>32536618
Oh wow are all cz mags interchangeable? that seems like a good backup gun to have. I have looked into it, wish hickok45 made a vid about the RAMI.
>>
>>32536662
Lol sorry I guess pol has rubbed off on me... Redpill means give me the knowledge

I have a friend looking to get his first gun ever. He wants a 9mm for cc and plinking at the range, and he's narrowed it down to two choices. Beretta 92fs or cz75 p01. Opinions? I find them both good and hold no sway one way or the other.
>>
>>32538413
they're both good. i do like the 92 compacts, but most don't like the slide-mounted safety/decocker on the non-g models. i think you'll end up liking the p01 a bit more because it's comfy, and doesn't have slide-mounted controls. give both a try and find out.
>>
just curious, since the RANI comes in either decocker or safety, how come more guns aren't like a Makarov where the lever is both a decocker AND a safety when engaged?
