The hell kind of 10mm is slower than a 40? I use 5.6 gr blue dot in my 40 and 9 gr blue dot in my 10mm.

couldnt tell you but i've never fired a 10mm round that wasnt both faster and heavier than it's .40 equivalent

9 times out of 10 it's literally the same bullet backed up by less powder so this kind of comparison is generally gonna be using a bullet more suited to .40/9mm AKA lighter

I'm kind of shocked at the 357 Sig numbers. I guess there's a reason no one really uses it

I'm not, because I know there are loads between 90 and 180gr , some of which hit 1500fps. Don't be surprised by tiny sample sizes. Doesn't help that the cartridge itself has to work with bullets made for 9mm velocity

A higher powered recoil spring for if you want to run some hotter loads through it? I found even on my g20, the slide comes back at a pretty noticeable force, I put in a 20lb spring and that calms down the violent slide action.

But in the end, it's fine as is.

If his hands/wrists/wallet can support it there is nothing wrong with it unless you try for a carbine conversion then the fast burn powder (it was optimized for 4-5 inches) underperforms and reloading with a rifle length is necessary. ....... but given reloading is a good idea for less common rounds is a good idea anyway just find a way to id pistol vs carbine loads if you go that way and all set
