I decided to mess around with a bunch of metal rings today and ended up making this chainmail-esque thing. So I downloaded the internet and looked up chainmail patterns, but nothing of the sort came up. Can somebody help me identify this?
A closer look

>I made this
>Can somebody help me identify this?
Do I understand you right? That it's the thing you made, and you want to identify it?
If so, then it's the chain mail you just made, you daft motherfucker.

I believe OP is talking about the pattern, and if it has been used before

>Can someone help me identify this?
Yes. Shitty chain mail. Keep working at it, make the rings tighter.
>>32524362
That's not chainmail, it's linked rings.

This.
>hey has anyone wound wire around chainlinks to make armor?
Yes. Everyone, literally. Arguably one of the weakest forms of chainlink.
Some kind of size reference would be nice.
it looks vaguely similar to japanese mail

Looks similar to Japanese patterns.
Interesting idea, but it still does not get around the weakness of the butted links.

Like others have said def Japanese
