Look at it this way - it's one of the few weapons that fires better if you DON'T clean it.

Yep, standard drills my friends. Get 200rds through it to get it warmed up and ready, then you only do very, very basic maintenance on it thereafter whilst you're operational.

Much smoother rate of fire once there's a nice layer of carbon on it.
