In one of Dalton Fury's books he makes an example of this when some Delta dudes are asked to deliver some piece of intel to the local forces or something to that extent. JSOC dudes come up with a plan for them to HALO into the sea, scuba dive onto the beach and use stealth to sneak into wherever they need to get. Beckwith slugged it out with Special Forces, did a year with SAS which included combat deployments and was accepted by SAS as one of their own - and you should know that nothing is given for free in the SAS. He proposed the Delta Force idea 20 years before it was actually put in motion. His memoirs very concisely showcase all the troubles and frustrations he had to go through in order for Delta to happen, and even more when it did for the first initial period.
