Wow guys the innovation coming out of Colt is just wild.

Check out their new revolver they just announced at midnight
>>
>>32499443
There was a thread on this a few days ago before they officially announced it.

While I'm happy that Colt is getting back into the Double-Action market again. They chose to reincarante the Cobra? Talk about weak sauce man.
>>
>>32499443
>cobra
>combat commander
>not having a model called the cobra commander

You had one job, Colt
>>
>Hey guys, we brought back a Snake Gun!
>Lol it's the one that was meant for poorfags, got ya!
Hurry the fuck up and get bought out or something holy shit.
>>
>>32499522
I would have loved a new production 4" .357 from them. I guess its all the small concealable firearm hype maybe, I dunno.
>>
>>32499834
This

Resurrect the Python
>>
i own several revolvers and honestly didnt know the colt cobra ever existed
i havent even heard it mentioned
so i'm guessing it's not the most iconic

desu I dont know why people are getting all booty blasted over this. Colt has made some real fucking stupid decisions in the last decade or so. Like the shitty remake of the 1908 and the fact that they announce that they are making A1 repos but only in a 2500 gun batch. But this is something im okay with. I mean yeah its not a python but fuck we are one step in the right(ish) direction. If they keep this under 400 then its a winner. I really hope they reconsider the A1 repos tho, like 2500 thats it? Even though people have been begging for this shit for years from you thats all you are gunna make? If they brought back the SP-1, SP-2 and made the A1 Clones and kept them under 900-1000 they would make bank. Colt really only needs to make A1 ARs, Snake guns, SAA and 1911s for people to love them again. Side not I really want a CM901

Praise kek
>>
>Cue torrent of half braindead retards who know little to nothing about firearms or manufacturing
>They come out of the woodwork and demand pythons and anacondas
>They have no idea that they would either end up with modern production garbage or guns far out of their price range anyways
>hurr a durr but i wanna play walking ded! xD!
>>
Kinda want. Is that front sight housed in plastic? If that's the case then no. Wouldn't pay more than 500 for it and only if it could handle +P, come blued & with nice wood grips.
>>
>>32499899
Worse than their stupid decisions with the repro ars is knowing there are people who will still pay way too much for a pony repro. That being said, Colt better get their head out of their asses and realize people won't buy their products just for their name anymore past those.

Colt liquidated all their revolver artisans three decades ago, and the craft faded into obscurity after S&W did too. Colt don't know how to do it anymore and there aren't enough people in the country you could even pool together to restart production to the high standards they once kept. Not to mention you'll never see a single new high polish hot blued Colt ever again.

Any Colt revolvers made in 2017 will be half-hearded mass production trash with Colt's typical QC (pic related), created by people who aren't even tradesmen, let alone master craftsmen with decades of experience digging around in revolver clockwork.

They don't even have a custom division a la Smith & Wesson Performance Center that they can cull for talent. They're literally starting from scratch with nothing but a roll mark and a set of moldy blueprints.

tl;dr They're going to be terrible garbage with a hilarious price tag.

Colt bringing back some of the Snake Gun line would be great but if anyone thinks they would be as good as the old ones are fucking retarded.
>>
>>32500034

lol
>>
>>32500034
I fucking wish.
>>
>>32499443
This actually makes me very happy but also very sad because the first line will probably have issues

As a poorfag with no guns, should I just buy an SP101 or buy the Colt?
If there are problems how would colt handle them?

They just announced a rail gun and you're fucking complaining?!
>>
>>32500009
You overestimate ancient techniques and underestimate modern manufacturing. That said, corporation shenanigans, profit margins, and marketing will ensure that you're still right.
>>

>corporation shenanigans, profit margins, and marketing will ensure that you're still right.

>>
>>32500545
I know, right?

Fuck the new colt revolver, I want my 10mm rail gun
>>
>>32499547
Oh geeze, that would have been amazing.
>>
>>32500568
It's the reason why I prefer Ruger over smith&wesson.
>>
there is no reason why colt couldn't resurrect a python and make it better than ever with cutting edge cnc. Hell they need to get the best pistolsmiths in the country and have an in house apprenticeship for new gun fitters. They can make a python and it can be sub $1500 gun I don't care what anyone else thinks. Colt just doesn't want to invest in this because it's not an immediate return
>>
>>32501556
agreed. remains to be seen. colt is but a shadow of its former self
>>
>>32501556
Why would they? People would just say "they aren´t as good as grandpas 70´s model" and continue to buy them for insane amounts of money,
I´m glad Snakegun prices aren´t that high in my country, got my 72 Python for under 900€
>>
>>32499522
It's not a terrible idea really. My guess is their logic is get people back into the idea of a Colt as a carry piece. You gotta figure there will be a bunch of people new to guns that'll lean towards a revolver. With the Colt name on it, I bet it'll move pretty well at the gun counters. Seems like the cobra could be a good springboard to move into other classic designs of theirs.
>>
>>32499869
The cynic in me thinks bringing back the python is a bad idea partly because of what happened with the R51. That, and the general incompetence of colt nowadays.

We only have to look at their revival of the 1903 a couple years back to see how that would have gone.

Hillary Clinton is a candidate that fights for all o us. She has been fighting for 30 years to make America a more equitable place. In the late 90s she stood up against the NRA and the Gun companies and she went to Smith and Wesson and said "I am willing to work with you, if you are committed to making safe guns that protect our children from gun violence" the result was a practical lock that allows gun owners to protect their most precious possession: their children.
This is why Hillary will make a great first female president.
>>
>>32502214
That looks perfectly fine, stop being autistic
>>
>>32502238
goddamn those fucking locks make me only buy old S&Ws. I'm sick of buying old ass revolvers that have been shot to death and wobble out of timing by looking at them. Fuck the clintons and all that 90s anti-gun shit. Revolver guys still deal with the scars.
>>
>>32502214

Msrp is $699. Not too awful. Interchangeable front sight options.

I could probably be convinced to give it a whirl.

The picture is like only halfway focused and you can still see it was made with subpar tooling. The top rear of the frame is particularly shitty. It looks like complete ass, and you're paying over 1k for that. Now compare that pile of crap to picrelated that you can get for like $600.
>>
>>32499899
