You could even make it by accident. Common household chemicals combined together and you have a WW1 chemical weapon.

In fact, most of these fake/troll chemistry hacks seem to all involve producing chlorine gas to smite the idiot who trusted an image macro on the internet to make innocent crystals and glow sticks.

Chlorine gas is pretty non-lethat though. It's hard to actually kill anyone with it, but it sure as hell will make you combat ineffective. Burns your eyes and lungs, but you'll probably survive.
