I think he has farsightedness instead of just myopia or astigmatism. Farsightedness is having difficult to watch very close items well, but with practice you can shoot well with whatever eye problem you have while using correction if you are not almost blind.

This only applies to lying to the federal govt about being military. Remaining cases fall under free speech.

Nearsighted
Definitely find it easier to hard focus on front sight without glasses.

Same as anyone else. I look through the sights, and squeeze the trigger. Only glaring flaw I have is if I lose my glasses in a life or death situation, I'm as good as dead because I can't see any reasonable detail past 1 foot, and would have some trouble telling hostile from friendly with irons at a distance.

I have a tip - bad eyes? Get a laser. Put the bright [insert color here] dot on the thing you wanna shoot.

I'm so blind I can't even see my AK's back sight without my glasses. It's mandatory for me to wear them.

I'm nearsighted, and detail stops right at the front sight, so glasses are mandatory if I'm shooting anything past 15 yards with irons. I tend to keep my glasses on for optics, because my little brother sometimes shoots with me and it saves time refocusing the lenses.

My $.02 - I'm farsighted with some astigmatism, no accommodation left and some other quirks added for a good measure. No glasses exist that allow me to see without a handicap, need three different pairs to exist.

Still, manage to get a 2" group at 20' from a handgun, with or without glasses. On the other hand, SOL with a rifle, need glasses to shoot, and need a scope with diopter correction, otherwise I'm fucked. Red dot just doesn't work, turns into a blur (though I'm sure I'll hit the target, it's just a pain to see that shapeless thing the supposedly crisp dot turns into).

All in all, if you want to kill a fucker shooting at you, your eyesight won't be much of a problem, I'm sure.

I don't understand how shooting with glasses could get in the way. Even if you don't wear prescription glasses it's still recommended to wear safety glasses.

Think "progressive lens", or "bifocal". A fucking PITA, both of them.

I could see how that might be an issue, I thought OP was talking about them being in the way. Fortunately I'm just near sighted and have regular single magnification lenses. Frankly he might just want to give up on using irons if he has the need for bifocals/progressive lenses.
