Sup /k/,

I'm looking to purchase my first firearm. I've got it narrowed down the the cz-75b omega or the cz-09 duty. Any input, or other guns I should be taking a look at?
>>
>>32489206
Yeah theres tons of guns you should be looking at. Is it for EDC? I wish I'd bought smaller.
SAO sig sauer would be sick, if I had a grand for an underwear weight :p
>>
>>32489227
I figured I'd leave an EDC for the second purchase, just get something I could shoot for fun and home defense at first.
>>
You're on the right track with CZ75 if you want a good all around pistol. Reliable, accurate, easy to maintain, parts available, etc. I love my pre-B, but I don't carry it much since it's a full-sized steel frame and takes some work to conceal all day.

Not OP and I'd rather not make a thread for this but: should I get a CZ SP01/P01 or a Beretta PX4 Storm. Kinda not decided whether SP01 or P01 for the CZ but I'm leaning SP01 if Ido get a CZ.
>>
>>32489276
I really love the feel of the steel frame, but don't know if the rail from the duty would come in handy. Is there anything that is absolutely necessary for the rail?
>>
>>32489291
Is the polymer much different with respect to cleaning, feel, and lubrication?
>>
>>32489321
Polymer is hard plastic. It feels like hard plastic and you only need lube when you shove it up your ass.
>>
>>32489206
the best part about your choices is that you can swap from safety to decocker and find out which you think is best.
if youre not gonna use it as a carry gun, get the 75b omega since weight will be a non issue
consider the cz85 if you want ambidextrous controls
>>
>>32489206
Would tritium nightsights be a good thing?
>>
why do you want a gun?
what do you need it to do?
what would you like it to do?
what's you're budget?
where do you live?
>>
>>32489505
Looking for a new hobby as well as protection, not so much a carry as that will follow with proficiency.

Shoot shit

Shoot shit, be fun, and fairly easy to learn on.

below 1000, preferable below 600.

Ohio.

Buy a Beretta 92 and fire it a few times, then sell it and buy a px4. It'll feel like a gun crafted by god himself.
>>
>>32489550
>Beretta PX4
why not start on the px4?
>>
>>32489623
because I'm a massive retard
>>
>>32489623
because the shitty 92 will make the PX4 feel much better in comparison

Go with the Px4. It's a bit better than a Cz for a notably lower price.
>>
Whats with all the talk of the px4 lately? Is it really that good?
>>
>>32490020
Apparently so. There was a thread a week or two ago about police trade PX4s from top gun supply being on sale for $300 a pop and /k/ cleared them out. Now love for the PX4 is at an all time high. I'm guessing all the /k/ommandos who jumped on the sale are pleased with their new toys and want everyone else to have one too.

cool. Id say start on rifles, I find rifle significantly easier to shoot than pistol.

but since you stsrted this thread on pistol we stay on pistols.

a full size 9mm is right up your alley
polymer frame options are lighter obviously
Id add a usp to your search. you can find usp in the $700-$800. they're iconic, cool, da/sa like the cz, fun to shoot, accurate, decent trigger, tough as fuck.

on the metal frame side, Id add the berretta 92 for consideration. great fucking pistols

most important is going to your local stores and shows to finger fuck these guns.

the location thing was just for dealing with shitty laws.

>>32490260
also a good option.
>>
>>32489550
My brother owns a Px4 Storm and i own a Jericho 941

He shot my Jericho and asked if I liked his Px4 Storm because he wanted to trade them. I declined.

The Jericho is pretty much a Jew CZ-75B. Copies almost everything about it other than frame shape.
>>
>>32489287
px4 a shit
>>
>>32489206

I have a P-09 FDE, it was my first pistol and so far its been great. Its comfy to shoot and accurate as well. The magazines hold 19 rounds unless you live in Canada like I do.
>>
>>32490900

I'd have to agree. Recently bought a p-09 myself.

I started out wanting the 75b but got my hands on both (side by side) and decided the P09 was the better buy. I still want the 75b, but could only buy one of them at the time.

I always recommend to friends looking for a first handgun to check out stuff like the Beretta 92 series, Glock 17/19, Hi-Power, USP, 75B, etc., (assuming you are set on 9mm). The nice thing about firearms designed for military/LE use is that they are usually very user friendly, easy to shoot/maintain with a 5th grade education and parts are easy to find. There's so many to choose from I could list them all day, but narrowing down to if you prefer hammer or striker fired, DA/SA, etc. is a good thing to know before putting down a lot of $.
Do you have any access to shoot the stuff you think you want before you drop the $?
>>
>>32489550
I prefer the 92 ergos. The grip on the px4 is so smooth, not for me.
>>
>>32489992
>It's a bit better than a Cz

Hell no it isn't.

>for a notably lower price.

Absolutely not. Both guns can be had brand new online for about $450.

My Cz75b is the first firearm I have ever owned. I prefer it over my sisters Beretta 92 mostly due to the ergonomics ( I have large palms and short fingers). The one thing I dislike about it are the sights but am looking to pick up some mepro glow sights soon. Parts, accessories and magazines are noticeably more expensive than Glocks.

fwiw
the other guns I was considering were the 2075 RAMI and an M&P Shield.

I much prefer the look and feel of a steel framed pistol.
>>
>>32493632
Here in California I pad $650 for my Cz.
>>
>>32493740
I can get one for about $520
