If you have land here you're allowed to set up a private range as long as it has been reviewed to be suitable, i.e. no public footpaths nearby, suitable backstop etc.

I live right next to firearm approved land too, and was friendly with the estate manager but they won't let me hunt on it with a firearm, only an air rifle, so I can't get my license.

That's fair enough, I suppose higher calibres are gonna punch bigger holes into the backstop so I guess paying extra towards the upkeep of the range is fair enough.

I really wish somebody would open a good range around here. There's a 25 yard indoor .22 range about 20 minutes away from me, but it's super fuddy (well, they're all fuddy in the UK but this one especially). It looks like full on prone target shooting with all the slings and blinders and shit, I haven't tried it yet but I imagine they're all gonna be the type to bitch about every tiny flaw in your form when you just wanna kill some paper.

I really hope I'm wrong but I'm not holding out.

it's about 15-20 minutes drive to get to my closest outdoor range. however, it's a dirt road approach that gets fucked up by anything more than a mild drizzle and since it's free, the retards inherently flock there at all hours. I had a guy walk in front of me while I'm shooting so he could collect brass off the ground.
i'm seriously debating joining a gun club just so I can weed out some of the idiots I have to shoot next to

Fees to shoot with your own guns are pretty low (25/30/35 zł, $6/7/8, £5/6/7) depending on what you want to shoot.

Even lower for members (15/20/25zł, $3.5/5/6, £3/4/5)

Members have to pay membership fees (325zł/$84/£68) every year but it's a good deal if you shoot frequently, at least once or twice a week.

Members also get a pretty big discount on rented guns. There are no additional fees for shooting rented guns, all you pay for is ammo.

Poland. Keep in mind we earn less though.

I live in the Midwest so I can usually go out to a buddies farm and do some plinking.

That said I live in the suburbs so it's a good 45 minutes to an hour drive for me to go anywhere I can shoot.
