The deadliest thing is a marine with his rifle so we only need one marine with his sniper gun to shoot a bullet at the yamoto. the marine sniper is so strong the bullet would probably pass through the ship and sink it.

So, a little back of the napkin math here, the Yamato's weight in marines is somewhere between 400000 and 600000 guys. You could pretty much accomplish any task with that many dudes. (the number spread was if I gave every guy 100lbs of equipment).

That many Marines would have air units available because the USMC is as a dangling naval appendage.

Yamato didn't come with accessories and was sunk in result. Had it completed its mission it would have been beached as a short battery. On Okinawa. Fighting against Marines but somewhat masked by terrain.

Marines, having the Navy as adult supervision from CONUS by radio even if isolated, would be informed to shell the soft spots and try to drop one down the funnel until Marine air support turned Yamato to scrap.
