Some photos I took back in November at the Army Museum in Athens.
F-104G lawndart
WW2 era armoured guard hut in the upper right.
F5-A
Hawk AA missile.
T-6 G Harvard
F86D
The canopies on these were not in the greatest condition.
Reconstruction of "Daedalus", Greece's first military aircraft, used in combat (recon I assume) on the 5th of December 1912.
The joys of mixed light temp photography.

I imagine one arrow would have screwed that whole thing over.
>>32485005
On the other hand, said arrow would also have a good chance of just passing right through.
Naval swords, 1750-early 19th century.
Powder tester.
For some reason they had quite a lot of tsuba.
The museum had some odd things going on at times. Like sticking a Japanese yari in amongst a bunch of European polearms.
Practice sabre.
...maybe Ian has a video on something like these?
>>32485307
He actually does, the bottom one is the Guycot chain pistol.
Just saw the video like 2 hours ago so it's fresh in my mind
As we move on to the rather older things, a lot of it are reproductions. I guess the originals are mostly to be found in the British Museum... Now while old Greek and Roman stuff is a bit out of my comfort zone, some of them seemed a bit odd to me. Then we got to the middle ages and, well, this thing. So the accuracy of the various reproductions cannot be trusted.

Nice.
Great thread OP. Love this kind of stuff
>no garands or enfields despite the fact that they used both
disappoint
>>32484776
>no mg34
>no golden gun from the gulf states
you're missing the best parts.
>>32485779
Probably some to be found somewhere, but I don't seem to have gotten any photographs of either.
>>32485818
>>no mg34
I have some memory of something pimped out, but my camera battery didn't last that long.
>>32485839
Wait, was it just sitting in the open? If it was i'd totaly act like a nigger and pick it up.
>>32485873
As far as I sew, yes. Maybe it's been bolted to the chest or something, but there certainly wasn't anything between it and me. A degree of civilisation appears to have been expected of the visitors.
>>32485873
oh I picked it up, it was a bloody good feeling.
>>32485839
I believe there was also one with a tripod
>>32485907
>>32485901
Well yeah i wouldn't try to steal it or take some parts of it but i'd try to at lest cock the bolt to the rear.
>>32485907
Could you operate the charging handle? Or everything was welded and cemented?
>>32485923
aaaaah there we go, brings back memories of getting shit faced in Athens. I wanted to start screaming in german when I saw it, but my friend would have thought im a lunatic
>>32485928
if I remember correctly it was all cemented. It was just one big paperweight, still felt good due to it being a genuine WW2 gun
>>32485959
Yeah i can imagine, i often think about buying deactivated WWII machine gun. Just so i could walk around the house with it when nobody's home.

They didn't use arrows in wwi
I once had a dream where I had been dragged along to play airsoft of all things. There was a good amount of good, practical "weapons" to choose from. But then there was the flame-thrower, even if only filled with water. Didn't really leave you much of a choice.
For Spitfire use.
The resistance making do with whatever they can get, or make.
Squibs, also in wartime.

Let's add a saif and a nimcha to the Indian weapons and see if anyone notices.
And that's the image limit. Whole pack, including what I couldn't fit here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/q5vh09pwj5f5xcv/Athens_-_Army_Museum.zip
Interesting mix of stuff.
Thank you for posting these.
Nice thread, I really enjoyed the pictures
Thanks for the pics, OP. They're nice.
Thanks OP, I really get a hard on for blunderbusses and all antique firearms
>>32485136
greek katanas?
>>32492652
Japanese, they had weapons from near and far.
>>32492665
What is the context? Were they gifted?
>>32492670
Nothing said about it that I can recall. I guess they just want weaponry from all around in the collections.
