What gear would a modern confederate soldier use had the south survived the war. No politics pls just gear porn.

Most importantly, what camo?
>>
Give it a few more years and we might find out.
>>
Literally impossible to know, the evolution of international relations and arms development would change drastically had the Confederacy remained independent.
>>
>>32477237

This shit. Only with a ball cap and plate carrier.
>>
>>32477296
Spots are a decent camo pattern in bush. that's why they have 'em
>>
>>32477655

Concealment in the brush, pimping in the whorehouse.

Have you ever read anything by Harry Turtledove? Check out his Southern Victory series.

Realtree.
>>
>>32477237
A mixture of British, French, and American depending on the state and its main trading partners.
>>
>>32477868
Sex?
>>
>>32477237
I think they would have been Central Powers in WWI, neutral + allied with Spain/Portugal in WWII, allied with Rhodesia/South Africa during the Cold War, and probably having equipment similar to the modern South Africans now.
>>
>>32478135
This
>>
>>32478135
>>32478219
Unlikely. Their biggest foreign trading partners were UK and France. Germany as we know it didn't exist until 1871.
>>
>>32477261
Maybe but why not play the game anyways? That's why many of us are here.

I'd bet the bongs would have a lot more influence in how arms developed, as the south at the time was not industrialized like the north. They would be a lot more dependent on imports.
>>
>>32478301
This guy gets it. It would be much more likely that the independent Confederacy would become a part of the British Commonwealth with the United States joining the central powers in World War 1.

From there, things would likely get weird and we'd probably have some sort of scenario where the USSR never comes to be because WW1 is over on the Western front before it ever has a chance to destabilize Russia.

That means we never get WWII and we never get the cold war, at least as we would recognize them (think: the Western front in the new second world war is between the USA and the CSA after the USA, devastated by a world war 1 loss, invades Canada under a new Fascist leader, with Transatlantic support of the CSA by Europe, ending with the opening of a second front in the northwest after Russia invades over the Bering and Japan island-hops the Aleutians), and military combat, tactics, and weaponry would likely be VERY different today.
>>
>>32478323
So they would have followed in the UK's footsteps?
>Adopt a Lee a Enfield Varriant
>Follows The UK into WW1, eventually fighting alongside the US to defeat the axis
>Follows the allies into WW2 in Europe somewhat, but doesn't do much in the pacific
>Aligns with Rhodesia, South Africa, and other white majority rule nations
>Is able to keep Rhodesia supplied enough to defeat ZANU and gang
>fights its own brush war against communist backed blacks
>forms a NATO equivalents with Isreal, Rhodesia, South Africa, and Belgium (cuz Congo)
>Three way Cold War
>>
>>32477833
Be forewarned: its meant to be an entertaining series, not necessarily a hardcore historical document.
>>
>>32478413
The USA was a significant portion of the UK and France's export market, a major factor why neither seriously considered supporting the CSA. Them supporting the CSA would have strained relations with the USA, but it's questionable if they'd break completely due to the importance of the trade revenues. Not to mention that the CSA was never politically unified and showed significant unwillingness on the part of its constituent states to work together outside the minimum required. It's entirely possible that the CSA would have balkanized in the years following the Civil War. Then you've got to consider that due to geographical and soil issues the CSA was considering expanding into Mexico and the Caribbean, which would have but it at odds with both the UK and France. And you'd have the parts of the Confederacy on the Mississippi River who had significant business interests in trade with the USA.

Things get weird is an understatement.
>>
>>32477739
Man, fuck that guy. His conclusions on which sides the fractured United States would have taken during WW1 are completely bogus.

so you are describing a war in the 30s or 40s between the Nip-Bong-Reb allies vs. USA in a world without the washington naval treaty?

>USA invades Canada
>Jap CV fleets attack in the pacific rolling Manila and the Aleutians
>Brits release insane real life non-treaty surface iron like HMS Incomparable,G3 class battlecruisers, the Lion-class BBs and Hood with 3 sister ships along with their decently large CV and sub fleets trying to repeat what they did to the germans in ww1
>USN uses unrestricted sub warfare in both theaters

when is the Animu of this coming out btw?

More so than the US. They wouldn't have been able to provide everything for themselves, so they would have been more dependent on trade, meaning they would have been more interventionalist than the North.
>>
>>32478868
>Rebs siding with Krauts
Nah senpai, a successful Confederacy would be British-aligned
>>
>>32477237
Southern boys love their shotguns so every infantry small arm would be issued with a Mossberg500 master key under slung shotty. The CSA's alliance with Nazi Germany would also have affected its weapon adoption so the average modern day CSA grunt would be issued Modernized STg44 variant rifles in 8mm Kurz, with the aforementioned shotgun master key. Uniform would be different shades of grey flecktarn.
>>
>>32478818
Yup. Imagine "sink the Bismarck", only in this case the Bismarck is a revised OG SoDak class trying to join the Lexington class battlecruisers currently raiding Anglo-Japanese supply chains in the Pacific, and the forces chasing it down are the Musashi, flanked by Kongos, and a split British expeditionary force operating from Singapore and Valparaiso with one group led by the HMS Lion and the other by a modernized N3, both with support from Hood and her sister ships.
>>
>>32478995
It ends when the American ship, trying to limp back to Pearl Harbor for repairs, is ripped to pieces by the 18" broadsides of the Musashi and the Saint Andrew because the Lion's 16" salvos are only able to knock out the pic related's softer structures.

The only gear a confederate soldier would need is their own body bag.

No.

So, would the CSA's gear be similar to what we see through history as English? Would their be any divergence?

Verrrry wrong. The South identified more with Anglos, so the South eould have likely favored the allied powers where-as the north would have likely identified more with the central powers.

They (the South) would have likely remained sympathetic to Rhodesia though, even after the Brits got stupid. On the other hand, its likely the North would have sympathized heavily with the Irish independence movement (a US backed troubles).
>>
Whatever the brits would've had since the bong empire was funding the confederates, Assuming they wouldn't have used the split in this country to launch yet another invasion to get their colony back the confederates probably would've become BFFs with the bongistanis and fought on their behalf in every war to come.
