Whats bad about roll pins?

I too enjoy pins and screws walking out over time

I fucking miss the days when left-handed faggots were forcible retrained to use things properly. You sinister faggots literally ruin everything for actual people.
>striker fired guns with pre-cocked triggers
>any striker fired pistol that was released in the past 4 years that do not have striker indicators
>>32466023
I hate having to use needle-nose to put that fucker back in
>>32466083
Why can't we go back to the good 'ol days of culling left handed people?
They're just as annoying as vegans, environmentalists and jehova's witnesses I swear to fuck.
>>32466102
You're doing something wrong.
>>32466102
Buy a new pin or 2. You should be able to put them in by hand.
>any gun that has a stricker indicator
>any single action gun with a saftey
>Ham-fisted ILS implementation
>Cheapening of parts on an established gun design
>Polymer AR lowers that aren't redesigned for reinforcement
>Use of cheaper polymers that rapidly degrade with temperature change
>Beretta's old grip panel magazine release system
>>32466204
>any single action gun with a saftey
>>32466112
Your grammar is atrocious and the implication that left handed people, and not idiots such as yourself, should be culled is simply mind boggling.
>>32466083
Am I the only Left handed shooter who finds it easier to handle an AR or AK southpaw then if held in the right hand?
>be me
>be southpaw
>Shoots AK
>Use right hand to engage safety lever / swap mag / charge rifle
>No retarted "AK roll" required
>Can see the ejection port with ease and easy to see if malfunction or empty
>basically just as easy for me to use an AR lefty as well
>Never once hit in face with shell, and yeas this also includes my SP1
>>32466002
>always thought of M16/AR15 as a complicated rifle
>actually get one
>it's remarkably simple, thought it does use lots of detents
>still wonder why I can't put it from fire to safe when the hammer is not cocked
>>32466555
>check'd
It's the shape of the saftey and how it interacts with the trigger, I'll get a video gimme a minute
>>32466575
I've never finger fucked a lot of firearms, I just assumed from the limited experience I have that you could put any gun on safe at any time
>>32466112

>>32466083

Both good reasons to have ambidextrous designs.

me too, until I started dicking around with mine while wondering the same thing
hopefully this helps

The safety is a cylinder with a notch cut out of it for the trigger to move up and down under, and when it's not cocked the trigger is in the way of safety turning

>>32466023
Not being able to install this is a user issue, not a design issue.
>>32466593
Hollywood lies about a lot of things. Go handle more guns!
Only personal grip I have is some mfg's claiming "Mil spec" is outdated, not realizing that a major part of it is QC checks, so the products are manufactured better. Exceeding mil-spec is fine, but without it you can get strange tolerance stacking on AR's, among other things.

Well next time the pin will actually be the right size it's fine.
>>32466034
I believe roll pins actually work better for applications that involve rotation, like trigger pins and firing pin retaining pins. Also, they are much more tolerant of intolerance in holes.
>phillips head screws for grips
>flathead screws for grips
>MIM barrels, extractors, ejectors
>any guns that come with three dot tritiums
>>32466522
I've always thought the AK was just better suited to shooting left-handed. It's certainly one of the most lefty-friendly non-ambidextrous rifles. Stick a projection from the safety down where your thumb can hit it and you've basically got a set of FAL controls mirrored for left-hand use.
What's funny is that a lot of ergonomic improvements to the AK, such as the Galil ACE, are basically just trying to move the controls to the left side of the rifle.

>>32468966
I imagine flathead or hex
>>32468978
He said no flatheads, also a hex would just be a pain if you needed to take it off anywhere other than at home
>>32469009
oh I misread that part
If you know the gun has hex keep a hex tool with your cleaning kit that fits
but I agree flathead is good
I like the combo of flat/ hex that the grip on my AR has.
>>32468978
He already said he hated flatheads, which is dumb because that's the easiest to unscrew. Just take any flat thing that fits the screw and left-loosy righty-tighty.
