My last ranges 300m ra ge was closed for 6 months or so cause the cfo said it was too dangerous to shoot that far cause people would hit the ground and kill entire families while they sleep with ricochets, but shooting steel at 25ft is okay, also no prone shooting on the ground you must be on a special platform, no 50cal, no bumpfiring/rapid fire, no tannerite, only 2 guests allowed but you cant shoot if theyre shooting and only one guest can shoot at a time, 20$ per guest, range closes and hour before sunset, so in the winter its closes at 3, smd if the river nearby floods the range will flood

This kind of shit right here is why I'm happy my mom said I could use her land to shoot on, last thread >>32440894 Considering the fact that people have used it without her permission to shoot on without anyone calling the cops (though yeah, it was probably locals), I imagine we wouldn't be bothered by anyone nearby, and I'll remember to ask her for that permission in writing so I'd be covered 100%.

We'll be able to shout Russian words we don't understand, do all the (Safe) stupid shit that range officers hate... I'm already reconsidering my thoughts about waiting until the end of winter before really setting things up down there. But on the other hand, fuck the unpredictable weather that's been sweeping through Nova Scotia lately, it's not likely to stay above 0 in most of the Province for too much longer.

So I heard there might be a 7.62x39 M305 coming in the future and I was interested in getting it so that I have less ammo types to lug around. But then why wouldn't I just get an SKS along with my 858 instead? Should I get a M305 in x51 or get either an SKS or wait for the M305 in x39?

>Shotguns
Short range isn't a problem indoors. Overpenetration is not a plus.

>instant hearing loss
Applies to most firearms. Put electronic earpro on top of your safe.

The bigger concern with a shotgun is the recoil slowing down your follow up shots. Use reduced-recoil buckshot, or step down to a 20 gauge or even a .410. With the right ammo (pic related- Winchester PDX1), even a .410 can be useful.

>pistols are easy to miss with
Practice

>melee weapons are shit
Not when attached to your SKS.

>can't use a carbine because of the 5 round restriction
Get a pistol caliber carbine and load 10. Get a STANAG compatible 5.56 and load 10. Get a lever action rifle in .357 and load 10.

You're not facing a banzai charge, most home invaders aren't going to hang around once you start firing.

http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-98-207/FullText.html

The practice of CCW is generally prohibited in Canada. Section 90 of the Criminal Code prohibits carrying a concealed weapon unless authorized under the Firearms Act.[1] Section 20 of the Firearms Act allows issuance of an Authorization to Carry (ATC) in limited circumstances. Concealment of the firearm is permitted only if it is specifically stipulated in the conditions of the ATC, as section 58(1) of the Firearms Act allows a CFO to attach conditions to an ATC.

Provincial chief firearm officers (CFOs) may only issue an authorization in accordance with the regulations. Specifically, SOR 98-207 section 2 requires, for an ATC for protection of life, for an individual to be in imminent danger and for police protection to be insufficient. As such, if the relevant police agency determines its protection is sufficient, the CFO would have difficulty in issuing the ATC over police objections.

For issuance of an ATC under 98-207(3) for lawful occupations, provision is made for armored car personnel under subsection a), for wildlife protection (while working) and trapping under subsections b) and c). Unless hunting or other activity is occupational, it would not be possible to issue an ATC under the section.[1] As noted, a CFO can exercise some discretion but must follow the law in considering applications for an ATC

They are amazingly heavy, I'd honestly never get one with the drum mag myself with the non-res barrel.

It is shocking at first just how heavy they are, but it's something I can get past for the ammo cost and because I'd like to get into 9mm. What I can't abide is a headache, and I have seen some fairly bad things and good things said about these guns. And I agree about the history, I think it would be a welcome gun to set beside my Russian guns, though they fought on different sides they did share some battlefields. Additionally I just really like WW2 SMG's, something that is fairly scarce especially in non-res in Canuckistan.
>>
>>32479926
That's conceal carry. IIRC open carry is legal for non-restricted firearms provided they're unloaded. That being said, the moment there's any sort of issue (EG panicked lady calls cops) then they'll bust you for causing a public disturbance, etc, etc. Sometimes it's done when walking to/from a hunting site but it technically legal in most of the country, including cities.

Mosin with bayonet affixed.

You've got a club & spear that blasts fireballs that will cause everyone to be deaf and blind and likely took out everything at once with it. Keep earpro hanging from the trigger lock so you don't forget to throw 'em on

x54r cases with the open end flattened makes a decent nail for crudely holding up targets, and the mosin itself is a good club.

You know how tired of a politician you guys get after 8 years?

Now imagine having the same one for a decade.

Harper was, honestly, pretty good as far as PM's go. There were definitely some bills he passed I didn't like, but overall he did very little damage to the country, even when he had a majority government.

That said, it's no secret he has the charisma of wet toast and, when you have every media outlet in the country going on and on about a "secret agenda" since before he even became PM, him winning again wasn't really feasible. At least not a majority.

The NDP fell apart (Most of the headway they made in the previous election was actually a protest vote in Quebec where they ended up stealing most of the BQ seats), so the LPC ended up getting a lot of those seats (It certainly helped that Trudeau is a Quebecer, in that regard).

Weed was by far the highest rated part of their platform (Their website allowed people to rate each major aspect of their policy). Incidentally, the lowest rated part of their policy was on implemented strict gun control. Guess which we're likely to get first.

I'm just hoping that he doesn't irreparably fuck over the country before 2019's federal election.

For a less generous view of Harper, I will add that people got tired of him after 10 years, but for actual reasons. He generally handled the economy well, and offered government aid to education and those who were seeking training in a new field of work.

The problem is he balanced the budget through shady means. Namely he'd give a department 5 million to spend on the services they provide, tell them to spend only 4 million, and then take that leftover 1 million back so that he could balance the Federal Budget and look good on paper to the country, without telling everyone that it was because he was cutting back on services. He'd also frequently lie about how much things in the budget cost, with our new ships actually being closer to 100 billion instead of the 25 billion that was touted under Harper.

Then there was the entirely unnecessary Bill C-51, an omnibus bill that gives the government powers to spy on the Canadian people, something even the RCMP and CSIS said they didn't need to do their job, and a measure that is actually in violation of the right to privacy in our constitution/charter.

He did not treat out veterans well, closing offices, clawing back benefits, and tolerating the Minister of the department frequently snubbing , or just generally being rude to veterans in general, when he was supposed to meet with various people and groups about the issue. Serving troops weren't treated much better, despite the way every pretends that Conservatives love the military and Liberals hate it.

>every media outlet in the country going on and on about a "secret agenda"

Most Canadians support legalization, but the current court precedent on enforcement of marijuana laws pretty much makes it unenforceable against small amounts of personal use as it is.

You have to be carrying quite a bit to get into any kind of trouble. If you got caught smoking a joint behind a church the officer would wag his finger at you and tell you to go somewhere else.

So yeah.. the imperative for immediate legalization is a bit of a fringe issue. Anybody still getting busted for pot is getting busted for industrial scale grow ops.

As well as the imperative for immediate election reform... since if you are a conservative or liberal voter you have a voice in Ottawa, whereas every other party only potentially has any leverage when there's a non party lines vote (which never happens) or a minority government.

But that's not what I'm talking about. He was going around making promises like giving reserve councils veto power on mineral exploration ops and shit.

Speaking of occupying old military fortifications, it's been a dream of mine that if we ever go full SHTF, that we try and occupy Citadel Hill in Halifax (assuming the city doesn't get nuked or something), so we can take over and turn the land into Outer Heaven. There's a few hundred thousand C7's in the armoury right nearby, so we could theoretically do it.

>>
>>32498270
Yeah but this is after SHTF, who'd have artillery but the army? And we could totally get them on our side.

Shit, we could have the artillery! Elevated position, relatively solid fortifications, clear lines of sight, including right out into the harbour. Set up a smaller fort on the islands to watch the water approach (like they did in real life on multiple occasions, most recently WW2), and you'd have it made.

The Commons and other park spaces would even be half-decent land for growing crops, and depending on how the world collapses, there may be plenty to loot from nearby supermarkets and hospitals.

It applies when you're shooting with both eyes open, and it's kinda dumb that they'd even include anything else in the pic since your point of convergence = point of focus. In other words, if you focus your eyes on the front sight, then the front sight will be the singular point of focus while the rear sight and target will be in double. I shoot comparable groups on my 180$ refurb 1950 SKS to my tavor with a 4x. The gun shoots sub 4 MOA all day. I have 3. I believe every Canadian gun owner has a responsibility to own one, I am stocking up to arm my friends and also buying cachés around my area.

M305 I have also. Chinese fit and finish is not as good on that rifle. Heavier. Ammo is heavier. More tedious to maintain and rocking in the magazines is a 2 handed affair..

Tldr I would take my SKS over a m305 any day

request a replacement ATT during valid period of licence; or,
renew your firearms licence with restricted and/or prohibited privileges.
Once the conditions have been added to the firearms licence, you are no longer required to request additional ATTs unless it is for a purpose other than those that have been added as a condition to the licence.

>Depending on the purpose for which you acquire firearms, you either get all six conditions added to your licence as a condition (if you have acquired your firearms for target shooting) or you get just five conditions, excluding transport to and from an approved range (if you have acquired your firearms for collection purposes).

I've been to both, and am always thoroughly sketched out. I spent a couple of summers making garden beds for a place called "Victoria Haven's nursing home." On my trips down, I was put up at the Cambridge Sweets in Sydney. It was fun, but there were fights.

Antigonish, awesome I worked there for a year once.

It's a rather shit town though, every is wound up like a clockspring and VERY pretentious.

Wolfville > Halifax > Sydney >>>>>> Antigonish

In terms of uni towns anyway.
>>
>>32506888
Trips of (non)truth.
As much as good as Halifax is, Sydney's ghetto is nothing compared to Halifax.
To be honest, It doesn't sound like a bad place anymore.
>>
>>32507020
Nice bait mate. Sydney is still fucked with Oxycontin, This place is still a shithole and the immigrants and chinks are slowly making it worse. Road repair now has more workers than the Municipality technically, Whitney Pier is still a fucking dumpy ghetto, It is still bad here. But I don't think it can be worse than that Island in Hub.
>>
>>32507020

Our ghetto is killing itself off. Haven't you heard about the "gun-violence crisis" in the HRM?

I didn't mind staying in Sydney for work but I'll stick to my little burb in the HRM for now.

At least we aren't in fucking Pictou.

I know right, when I get coffee for lunch in Burnside and read the Metro I can't help but laugh at the morons.

Lads, there's a good SVT40 at the army navy store if you don't have one yet. Great shape and a fair price considering it comes with loads of shit, think it was 600 or something.

I'd get it myself but I just bought a CSA 858

Viva la Canadia.
What's the rules on body armor here?
>>
>>32507488
It's regulated provincially. Most provinces consider having a PAL valid enough reason to own a set.
>>
>>32507498
Oh, Nice! I never thought we could own that shit here.
>>
>>32507540
Again, check your province's laws. A PAL is good enough for some provinces, and you need some other special permit in others.
>>
>>32507488
All i know is that with a PAL you can own it in BC. Not sure of other provinces
>>
>>32507488

In Ontario you can buy without a PAL. I have level 3+ multi hit plates that weigh 1.64 kg each
>>
Wow I just read up on Manitoba's body armor laws and god they are stupid. You need to get a permit to obtain body armor (unless it's part of your job), (5 year with 100 dollar fee) and part of the application process for the permit is submitting a criminal record check... Like who wrote this fucking stupid law. The only people who need body armor for their job also hold PALs. Why not just make the PAL the requirement. Because people with the PAL get daily criminal record checks.

We do? It seems like it would make more sense if they just checked if we had a PAL if we were busted for a crime
>>
>>32508880
>Canadian government
>Making sense
>>
>>32508915
True enough
>>
>>32508880
It's probably some kind of numbers game that vaguely makes sense from a fiscal point of view.

Most criminals aren't PAL holders. It wouldn't make much sense to ask every criminal if they have a PAL, especially for crimes that aren't even weapons-related.
>>
>>32508769
>I LOVE MY PROVINCE!!
>Ontario, Nova Scotia, and Quebec
>two cucks and whitebread
>>
>>32508880
In theory, the idea is that they would be raiding your house the day after you get a charge or sentenced or something like that, because they can't set the system to automatically ping that you have a PAL the moment you get arrested or something.
>>
>>32509013
LONGUE VIE NOUVELLE ECOSSE!
>>
>>32509035
The whole system is stupid and needs to be scrapped really.

Keep the safety course, I like the idea that you at least have to not be an idiot to get a gun.

If they want classification, one definitive objective physical description for the classifications. No exceptions.

Also mag limits are retarded because people just pull the fucking pins out. If some thug who doesn't give a shit broke into my house, he would have the firepower advantage assuming he had unpinned mags.
>>
>>32506888
Couldn't agree more. It's hard to believe pretentiousness exists in this province until you visit Antigonish.

>>
>>32509202
Neat. How's it this time of year?
>>
>>32507498

The only provinces that require a PAL, AFAIK, are Alberta and BC.
