Not really, we were in Kosovo as UN peacekeepers, Afghanistan in some shitty support role with the bongs iirc and Timor in early 00s doing security.

We don't have colonies anymore so nothing happens other than NATO exercises.

We don't have colonies anymore

Well, kinda hard to have an opinion on a force that no one really ever encounters. What's their main issue rifle? Drop some facts for us

It's the old G3 but it is going to start being replaced with the HKg36 in next year. Some small units have Hk416.

Tbh the Portuguese armed forces are a shadow of what they were in the past, almost everything is old, damaged shit. Also we don't produce anything and with sucessive leftard goverments, the financial crisis and the war is bad actitude it has only got worse.

During this summer there were a major shitshow going on with the comandos sf unit. Two kids died, and many got fucked due to exhaustion and dehydration in the selection because the people administrating the classes don't give a fuck about the well being, the only thing that matters is producing hard fucking cunts. Some were even forced to eat dirt, kekek.

For some odd reason I just looked up Portuguese gun laws about a week ago.

They're fucking terrible and your country sounds like a Leftist nightmare. I imagine it to be like a smaller version of California but poorer and everyone speaks like a drunk Mexican that just came back from the dentist.

Deves ser um burro do caralho, não?

For the non Portuguese speakers:

Our gun laws and culture are basically about the fuddest of the fuddest. Anything resembling a modern sports rifle is forbidden as a "weapon of war".

Semi autos that are basically for hunting are allowed but only Fudd like with small magazines and no pistol grips.

There's basically a "assault weapons" ban.

You have to take a hunting course to own a simple shotgun and pass all sorts of bureocratic bullshit.

Oh and the cops can just deny you a license just because he had a bad day.

There are caliber limits on guns as well.

You can only own a certain amount of ammo at home and the population is very anti-gun, along with the politicians.

I give it about 10 more years until gun ownership is fucked for good.

>>
>>32464871
Vai ler o caralho das leis ou falar com um cona qualquer da PSP.

Ou então sai da teu quarto nojento e vai a uma loja de armas e pergunta aos conas que lá trabalham.

So basically, the type of shit that is "allowed" in Portugal are the following:

>bolt action rifles (can't be too tactical)
>semi automatic rifles (nothing tactical with small magazines)
>small revolvers (caliber restrictions as well)
>pistols (hard to get and some caliber restrictions)

Everything is hard to get and very bothersome because basically 99% of the population is extremely anti-gun.

Keep in mind that in this country criminals are armed and dangerous and there have been shoot outs on the streets in plain daylight without any cops around since they can be sued and go to jail for shooting at criminals.

Calm your shit down and stop meming some isolated incidents.

Also that shit happens all over the world with way bigger regularity than here, look at France, Switzerland, Germany and let's not even talk about the us. When was the last mass shooting here? Oh wait it never happened.

Mass shootings are fucking rare as getting struck by lightning and have nothing to do with gun laws.

We are luckily that we are still very far away from the troubles with all the Islamists arriving in Europe even though our idiots from the left would love to open the doors and let them all inside.

What the fuck are you on about, faggot? Salazar prevented Portugal from being a poor shithole. His economic sense was superb. He's also probably largely responsible for keeping that idiot Franco from crashing Spain with no survivors.

Portugal is behind England and France because it was never up to par with them to begin with, and the Leftists that took over after his death stagnated the economy.

His only real mistake was not granting more rights to colonial subjects.

I don't really give a fuck if he was a dictator. In fact it's probably a good thing, considering the wave of retards the Portuguese put in power after his regime ended.

Throughout the 1950s, Salazar maintained the same import substitution approach to economic policy that had ensured Portugal's neutral status during World War II. From 1950 until Salazar's death, Portugal saw its GDP per capita increase at an annual average rate of 5.66 per cent. The rise of new technocrats in the early 1960s with a background in economics and technical-industrial expertise led to a new period of economic fostering, with Portugal as an attractive country for international investment. Industrial development and economic growth would continue throughout the 1960s. During Salazar's tenure, Portugal participated in the founding of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) in 1960 and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in 1961. In the early 1960s, Portugal also added its membership in the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the World Bank. This marked the initiation of Salazar's more outward-looking economic policy. Portuguese foreign trade increased by 52 per cent in exports and 40 per cent in imports. The economic growth and levels of capital formation from 1960 to 1973 were characterised by an unparalleled robust annual growth rates of GDP (6.9 per cent), industrial production (9 per cent), private consumption (6.5 per cent) and gross fixed capital formation (7.8 per cent).[105]

Despite the effects of an expensive war effort in African territories against guerrilla groups, Portuguese economic growth from 1960 to 1973 under the Estado Novo created an opportunity for real integration with the developed economies of Western Europe. In 1960, Portugal's per capita GDP was only 38 per cent of the European Community (EC-12) average; by the end of Salazar's rule in 1968, it had risen to 48 per cent; and in 1973, under the leadership of Marcelo Caetano, Portugal's per capita GDP had reached 56.4 per cent of the EC-12 average.[106]

>but you guys got probably the best dictator in the history of dictators
It's easier to say that when you're living in the other side of the pound and clapping to some good measures while the people who have to live with them are fighting to survive.

It like me saying that some african dictator is a good guy to prevent civil war meanwhile he is doing an ethnically cleansing far from curious eyes.

Yeah, we betrayed your ass during the Angola and Mozambique Wars and are responsible for denying your ability to license AR 10s.

P.S. Stop buying from others and start making your licensed shit and ammo in your own damn country. And increase your defense spending too

Other than walking around Alfeite and some of the subs you guys have there, along with a few bits and pieces around Praça do Comércio (think it was a museum) I don't know much about you guys.

Can't imagine your military is holding up particularly well, but I could be mistaken. Really wierd mix of bad public investment and bad social services then really well funded public transportation and malls, but apparently you guys love those. Nicer than UK ones.

I've visited plenty of gun shops here in portugal and it's basically all the same. 90% double barrel shotguns, the rest is just assorted shit, all non tactical.

I always say that a gun shop says a lot about the gun culture and gun laws of a country.

They make people soft and expect the state to do everything for them.
>>
>>32466605
If you don't rely on the government why do you care? Just live your own life by your own rules, people who hate their country are traitors who deserve no sympathy.
