I've got a UV5R with the extended battery in a Tactical Tailor/Milsim West pouch, and the expert power 7.5" antenna.

I should get my HAM license. I also want to eventually rig up a solar charging setup, except getting the voltage right for the baofeng dock might be an issue.
>>
>>32453037
I suggest getting a HAM license but at the same time I can say "who cares" because in the middle of the forest the radio police aren't going to come and take your radio. At worst they'll give you a fine and be on your way. That's at worst.

>>
>>32453197
COMMS ARE AGAIN SUBJECTIVEEEEE ITS ALL BASED ON MISSION AND PREFERENCE REEEEEE

I like left side only headsets with no amp and pluggies plugged right into a U94 right into my kenwood baochink.

You need to have a plug map too because those plugs are all sorts of confusing.
>>
>>32453197
How is 6b28 not shit when there's awesome 6b7-1m?
Why not include the ops-core? Especially pre-gentex models that can be found relatively cheap.
>>
>>32453207
As a general rule I recommend solid colored gear so you can wear it with whatever clothes and not look goofy. I have EMR gear because I have a rager for that camo. However if you have to camo mix it doesn't matter to much, generally you can get some different effects when doing it. Like if you wear darker gear over multicam you can bring the tone of multicam to a darker hue(?) and if you wear coyote or something it can make it better suited for the desert. There are some pics from Ranger school that show this somewhere.
>>32453229
I knew I was forgetting something, thanks
>>
>>32453207
Colors should never conflict but they dont have to be the same. I prefer ALPHA GREEN under paraclete green with ranger green mixed around. (fucking 50 shades of green I swear). They don't conflict and it looks pretty swank in the forest and in urban locations. For multimeme go with something gray, brown or yellow. Stay away from contrasting colors.

I can see why someone would opt for a solid color for pants and jackets. There seriously aren't any downsides to having something like a plate carrier, ballistic helmet, or rifle in a camouflage pattern. At the point that people see you wearing them, it's go time anyways.
>>
>>32452263

I think walhat yes referring to is that it looks more asthetically appealing than having camo gear over solid colors. He isn't referring to concealablity or anything like that.

Well I can see the idea of >>32453235
>if you wear darker gear over multicam you can bring the tone of multicam to a darker hue(?) and if you wear coyote or something it can make it better suited for the desert

The concept makes sense. Multicam seems a bit light for my area and wearing Ranger Green or Nutria Brown could darken up your colors a bit for better concealment. Not sure how well that would work in practice.

honestly why even be concerned as far as legal issues? As long as the funds are from you. All your doing is buying a product that normally would be heavily regulated due to limited production capabilities and lack of a market place. With enough money and networking you can buy just about anything you want in the USA scott free no questions asked. It's not that difficult if you know what your doing.

sup /gq/

i'm looking to get an lbt 6094 soon, but I see a couple of variations on their website. why is the SRT version $200 more than their regular 6094? there doesn't seem to be much in either product descriptions explaining the differences.
>>
>>32454801
one goes to a different place and the government pays more money for almost exactly the same gi grade shit made product except that it has this little bit more tactical on it so we have to have it! That's why they are charging 200 more when it probably only costs $200.00 in material and $100.00 in labor to make. Don't buy from LBT you're getting a mediocre product for what you pay for overall.

>>
>>32454801
please don't listen to that retarded tripfag because he not only misunderstood your question but he's a cringeworthy autist newfag in first place.

to more directly answer your question: the SRT is specifically dedicated to police/LE breaching and apprehension tasks, so it has several more sewn-in pockets on the front face (for administrative needs) as well as extra baton/window punch elastic loops and larger comms routing wraps designed to interface with the coil-wire PTT mics that LE often use as opposed to straight wire PTT found in .mil users (and therefore found on the normal 6094), features a sewn-in and reinforced routing path for zipcuffs that runs through your shoulder pads and is accessed from the rear face (the "button holes" near the shoulders on the rear) for buddy usage while you're kneeling on the suspect, and includes a modular pouch insert for the velcro kangaroo section on the cummerbund as a standard part of the kit. the price difference covers the man-hours difference in the much more complicated and much lower production front panel (more pockets), the man-hours difference in the slightly more complicated and much lower production rear panel (zipcuff routing path and reinforcements), and the included add-on retention kangaroo mag pouch which retails for like $60-65 on its own. that's where the extra $200 comes in over the normal 6094. I hope this clears it up for you, anon.

(Protip: if you can be patient, wait for an LBT sale and save upwards of 40% off of their vests)

I cannot figure out how tall you are, either your doors are lower than mine, or that gun is extra big....
Either way the main thing about it going down to far is it restricts movement in the front and back, but if it doesn't bother you that's fine. Make sure it sits just below the collarbone though.

What would be a good chest pouch solution to carry a lot of 30 round AK mags? Thinking like 10-12 mags.

I have an RPK and want to put together a support gunner loadout.

Thinking of using FLC with some appropriate pouches, but not sure what's out there for commie support rifle setups.

This is a niche heavy loadout and not near my "normal" one, so I don't need to hear about how it's a lot of mags.
>>
>>32458854
This is what the SMERSH was made for
Not a chest rig, more of a belt setup, but it's nice and plays nice with a PC
http://www.specialrussianshop.com/product_info.php?products_id=141
>>
>>32458854

You do not want to try and walk around with 10-12 mags on your front. Do 6 on the front and a belt or a small backpack with more. Do not put all your weight on one area of the body.

Not to mention 12 mags will kill your joints.

SMERSH seems neat, though I was hoping for MOLLEable solutions to use what I have already where I can.

Not really, they use the same classifications.
On paper they use more automatic rifles like the RPK but currently in practice you'll see more PKMs. They don't have a belt felt "automatic rifle" like the SAW because they don't have a reason to, considering the PKM weighs the same.

See if you can find one of the classic buttpacks, the rear of the pat83 battle jacket has clips for them so you can thread on a buttpack that was usually a pancho, sleeping pad, etc

Yo can we not shit on people for using iron sights? This is not arg.

>believe it or not I prefer irons and can reliably hit man sized targets at 500 yards with irons. I don't want an optic to baby.
>>
>>32460089
They are great things. They have more capabilities than a baofeng, but with drawbacks. Like needing an amplified PTT to work with real earpro/comms, and being fuckhuge. I got it because lolcosplay.

>>
>>32460237

My rifle was ~800.

Why pay for an Aimpoint when I like irons and could get another ~1500 rounds for that price?

That's the babying part, to me. I just think ammo suits me better.

How's the retention on the mag pouches on the spiritus rig? Just deciding on a color and hanger pouch now for it before I buy. Also, GL9 27rd mags there? What knife?
>>
>>32460266
Different anon, but for me optics serve a completely dofferent purpose. It's all about fast aquisition, especially while moving or engaging rapidly. It's a lot easier at 25 yards for me to plop the 65 MoA outer ring of my eokek (I really do love it though, no memes) on the silhouette and squeeze then get a proper soght picture with irons. Same goes for long-ish distance shooting. I can plop that 1MoA dot on a target a lot faster than I can line up irons.

Solid retention but very tight tolerance. You have to pull straight up on the mags to get them out so it takes some practice to be quick with a reload.

The GL9 mags are the 21 rounders and the Knife is an ESEE 4.

Pic unrelated to the spiritus but related to GQ.

If I had to do it over again I'd not buy Team Wendy. Not because they aren't comfortable but Ops core accessory rails are objectively better then TW rails in almost every way.

TW screwed the pooch by thinking they could reinvent the wheel.

The helmets are good, but the company itself is shit. The owner is a big supporter of Clinton, has donated to her, and had her speak at their facility as recently as this year I believe. When he noticed that this was bad for business, he tried to deny all of it.

>>32461352
>Ops Core Fast
>More affordable
In what year do you live in? Last time I checked FASTs are anywhere from $1200-1600 and Team Wendy' EXFILs can be had for $965.

Long gone are the days of $800 FAST helmets. The only other helmet in a comparable price range to the Exfil by a big-name manufacturer is the Airframe.

I should've known. Those fuckers manage to sell things at prices lower than most dealers can buy at.

Also, they still have ballistic FASTs for under $1000? Damn. Either way, if you're going bump there's no reason to go with TW over Ops Core.

Good meme or bad meme?

I've heard about stuff on your chest getting in the way of going prone and you want to have as little as possible up front as you can get away with.
