Would the Vortex Sparc AR be a decent SHTF optic for a poorfag? I figured since it takes AAA betters it would be a good choice, you can find those everywhere.

What do you think?
>>
>>32449256
Get an aimpoint pro
>>
>>32449276

this, if you have to be a poorfag, get a vortex, if you're to poor for that, buy nice irons
>>
>>32449276
>>32449285
Yes I plan on getting an aimpoint way in the future but for a while I'm pretty much gonna be a poorfag. Won't have the money for a loosing time.

So would a Sparc AR be a good choice until then? Mainly because of the AAA battery usage?

Just make sure your BUIS is rock solid.

If you really want to cheap out on an RD, at least get the MD-ADS. I don't know why people bother with the SPARCs and pay more for inferior battery life.
>muh warranty
Like you're going to do anything to the PA that will fuck it up and won't be covered by their own solid return policy, fuck.

This.

Check out DI Optical's RV1

OP I'm a college poorfag too, hiding away money from my side gig at a brewery to buy an Aimpoint PRO. I plan on just rocking iron sights til then, they're more fun for plinking anyways IMO. Just save, it takes a while but it's worth it.

Btw build up this collection from just the PPK and the Lee Enfield, which I got for free, in two years. GI Bill and a side job all while paying rent, having a GF, even taking some cool vacations.
>>
>>32449513
Anon, this is fucking dope. I'm pretty new to guns so mind my inferior knowledge. So are the reliable? Durable? I love the aimpoint like look as well
>>32449467
I'm new to guns and optics, what's good about that red dot?

>>32449645
it's light, it's cheap, it's pretty durable, and it has a respectable battery life.

Pic related is my red dot collection.
>>
>lower 1/3
do you weigh like 9000+ lbs? I don't know how people do lower third and still have and semblance of cheek weld...
>>
>>32449676
oops, my two Micro T2s are not in this.

nor...my magnified optics.

I was talking about the Primary Arms thing, btw.
>>
>>32449309
Save for an Aimpoint, itll outlast the vortex, only a couple hundred bucks more
>>
>>32449620
just save up for a fucking T2. It's only like, what? 200 more on sale?

Or just get a Trijicon MRO. I run two of these as well.
>>
>>32449676
>daaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyuuuummmmm

>>
>>32449712

Oh I may, no huge rush here. Fuck, just saw the MSRPs for like 100 more than I was saving for the PRO... well then...
>>
>>32449748
HOW GUCCI AM I, SEMPAI?
>>
>>32449676
It seems pretty gud. I might get that. The battery life is 20,000 hours vs the Sparc AR is 300-5000. AA batteries are extremely common as well. That would be a decent beginners prepper red dot. Any pics on your guns? Any cons?
>>32449705
It's so much money
>>
>>32449676
Also, what about fog and water? Is it fog proof? Waterproof? Good in heat and cold? How clear is the dot?
>>
>>32449676
You know the barcode contains the serial number, right?
>>
>>32449946
a bit harder to decipher.
Sir, why are you breaching OpSec?

STAND DOWN.

>>32449903
you probably won't run into an issue like that. honestly, just buy one and take it into the shower.
>>
>>32449975
Well I would like my red dot to be rugged at least. Any other recommendations? Can't find many reviews on the rv1
>>
>>32450029
>be rugged at least
MRO, on sale for less than 400, and pretty good. I had to send one back due to electronics failure, though. And there is a slight magnification and a green tint.

You can get a T2 for about 630 USD sometimes, but that's without a mount. Not sure exactly what your budget (how poor you are) is.

I have never used the RV1. I...typically don't buy things at the price point.
>>
>>32450064
I'm a poor fag as in less than $250 I can't do $400, $500, $600 for just a rifle optic. I make $12 an hour I mean c'mon lmao
>>
>>32449256

>optics for long-term SHTF

you're going to be sour when it's a decade in the post-apocalypse and you're stupid ass can't use irons.
>>
>>32450107
Whoever said I'm buying an optics now? Whoever said I'm not gonna shoot with irons? I'm getting an idea of what to buy in the future dummy that won't rape my wallet
>>
>>32450107
>he can't make a simple pile
Your dumb ass is gonna be dead anyway, lmao.

DI Optical sights are pretty durable. They are more well known for these giant holo sights that are used on SOF M2 HMGs and miniguns
>>
Holosun. Nuff said c:
>>
>>32449620
i know your pain.
>>
>>32450102
>I make $12 an hour I mean c'mon lmao
if that's the case, might I suggest a high yield savings account instead?

Seriously, just use irons. Save your money.
>>
>>32450214
Ah I see, so I mean they're pretty reputable then? Because the more research I do on this the more I fucking love it. The battery life is outstanding for the price, and the fact it takes AA batteries really turns me to it. Also, it's casino is aluminum. It seems fucking dope for the price.
>>
>>32450251
I was looking into these as well, but I highly prefer an optic that uses a AAA or a AA battery. Those weird fucking batteries are pretty rare and not practical for SHTF. They seem good outside the specific SHTF practicality that I'm looking for.

To prevent pic related. Not everyone's neck is flexible enough. Also, earmuffs get in the way.
>>
>>32453638
seems promising, id like to try it out for sure. one complaint ive heard is the details in the reticule can be hard to pick up in daylight. it all kind of blurs together from what ive heard.
>>
>>32449695
...theres like .18" difference between the two
>>
>>32449256
Fuck that dot is huge
>>
>>32453745
still has a donut of death on the outside though, and the line is vertical kind of like a trijicon
>>
>>32450102
Why are you buying a rifle then?

You wont even be afford to feed it
>>
I bought a brand new SPARC II for 160, should I have gone with the PA MD-ADS? I'm not much into "operator" shit nor do I care about SHTF, I went with Vortex because of their warranty and better brand recognition. I put the RD on my PS90.
