After CO legalized weed a bunch of Californians moved and 15 round mag limits got pushed through. You can buy them out of state and bring them in, but not sales. IIRC some stores sell the body + floorplates and the springs + followers separately. As a result magpul moved or something.

You can buy 30 rd mags with the base plate slid out a little bit but it's illegal if it's sold locked in.

It gets said a lot because it is true. The M27 has a slightly tighter magwell, and gen 2 (I never used gen 1, sorry) pmags are slightly too snug. The gen 3 works fine, as does the emag.
