Calling all wehraboos: this is the thread to share, r8, and deb8 one of the greatest arms exporters of human history. Come together my brethren, Mauser, Walther, even Benz, Krupp, and Daimler. Post any and all weapons that hail from Germany, from tanks to small arms.
Why are german weapons so aesthetically pleasing?

It's the perfect combination of efficient Northern European design with utilitarian functionality

Couldn't have said it better. The Broomhandle could have been extraordinarily ugly (as opposed to being only charmingly ugly), yet it's such a unique profile that no pistol has come close since.

Exactly. My favorite example is the Stg 44. It's simultaneously highly functional, yet attractively simple
>>32449248
Even with how outwardly odd a friction ignition system seems, it's simple, requires no springs and firing pins unlike the Mills bomb, and gives the thrower a vastly extended throwing range due to leverage, all in a weapon that even Wikipedia says is the most visually recognizable infantry weapon of the early 20th century.

That's a good question
German weapons from back then are pretty distinct looking
>>32449248
Only thing they fucked up was the unnecessarily short sight radius.

Not recognizable enough I don't think

Even their cartridge is beautiful!

My favorite cartridge to hand load as well I get those SST moving fast!
>>32450044
The only cartridge in that lineup that's actually German is the very first one.
