A k98 modified to fire grenades
>>32447939
This one is weird. It's an Iranian underbarrel grenade launcher called the Nader. I'm not sure if they just made it look like an RPG head or what. If it's an actual RPG rocket in there, I don't know how they managed the backblast. Apparently this was used in the Iran-Iraq War, which was basically WWI style trench warfare with chemical attacks, large scale bombings of civilian targets, child soldiers, G3s, AKs, jet fighters, and foreign governments funneling shit tons of cash into the whole thing. I'm surprised it doesn't get as much attention as stuff like the bush wars in Africa, because it was pretty hardcore.
>>32447967
This was given to cosmonauts as a survival weapon so they could bag rabbits if they reentered the atmosphere over some remote area. It fires a 5.45, a .22, and a shotshell. I don't have a picture of the really cool part of it, but it came with a stock that was also a machete. I'm not sure how many were used.

Sweden wanted to replace their G3s (AK-4) with a 5.56 rifle to catch up with the rest of Europe, and they almost adopted this Galil variant called the FFV 890, but in the end they went with the FNC and ended up with their current service rifle, the AK-5.

>>32448082
These are "trounds". They were designed to be fired from a magazine-fed revolver called the Dardick. Apparently, they even had plans in the works for one loaded with a masonary drill bit for putting holes in concrete or something. I don't know who approved the idea, but I really want to see it in action. More to be read on Wikipedia if you're interested. Apparently they had a carbine, too.
>>32448062
Do you have a picture of the Vektor pistol that was designed along with this? The one they sold to South African police and security and to civilians in the US before they recalled it over it not being drop-safe?
>>32448105
The idea here was a sterile rifle that could be given away to anti-Soviet guerrillas and governments. "Low Maintenance Rifle" pretty much tells the whole story.

The Uziel Gal assault rifle. Can't find too much on this gun except for a few blog posts and this one picture I can find. Was designed by Uziel Gal, the inventor of the famed Uzi. He made it as a contender for the Israeli Galil program, but did not win obviously. From what I could dig up, it performed nearly as well as the Galil. I love the look of the receiver though and the stock is pretty unique too.

Logistics & weight.
At the start of WW1, there were almost no MGs in the air. Or even fixed weapons. At the start, you had pilots taking pot shots at each other with pistols & revolvers. After that you sometimes had rifles like Mondragons shooting at eachother.
So there is a supply issue, since MGs are rare & in high demand, and weight because those planes could not take a huge amount of extra weight.
