It's not ideal, but it actually gives him ability to have a decent FOV with the rifle that isn't locked to 10 degrees. If he's shooting at distant targets, it's not like his barrel sticking out is really going to give him away so much.

Way too many people take by the book best practices and then armchair operate when somebody has to bend those practices in the real world.
