Why does Creedmoor even exist? .260 Remington was already around when it was introduced, is ballistically identical, and uses more commonly available brass with the same bullet.

This. In a short action, .260 is the best 6.5 you can get.

6.5x55 is my favorite, but it exists in the grey area between short and long actions as far as getting detachable magazines for it goes. I love my Howa 1500 in 6.5x55 though.

i like my .270 and have taken out yotes to elk with it. Will most likely get a 6.5 Creedmoor next year. Currently dabbling in 6.5 Grendel
