Some are, yes. There is a big difference between someone that's prepared, and a "prepper". After 15 years of training in combatives and tactical shooting (4 of which were spent with 1st AD as 11b) I can say that my world view is definitely different than most people. I don't sit with my back to windows/entrances at restaurants. I keep /fit/ and run shooting drills to stay sharp. I've got BoBs, INCOs and IFAKS in my car, truck, house. I carry a glock 19 like it's a religion and have at least 1 loaded long arm + backup pistol in each vehicle. I live my life with a head on a swivel and assume everyone around me is as well armed and well trained as I am.

Even with all of that, I'm 100% a normal dude in every other way. Alertness and preparedness are certainly part of my life.... but it isn't my way of living.

I can't imagine how thoroughly detached, unrealistic and delusional someone has to be in order to need a "guide" on being a "gray man". I watched a few episodes of "doomsday preppers" and my god... those people are beyond saving.

I got my dog one of those "military" type harnesses because they're good for hiking with her. She can carry her own food/water, IFAK, and her sleeping roll/extra blanket.
