I'm building one right now. I have 5 1911s in 45acp and 9mm. Wanted something different. Ordering ammo online, you can fine .30 to .35 cents per round, so expect to pay 15 to 18 a box for general fodder. Stores do carry it, but it lists for close to 357 magnum prices.

I am good with being a special snow flake with thus build, but I don't really have plans for it fitting a major role. I reload, and most of what I shoot through it will be probably closer to 40sw +p than full house 10mm.

I'm also autistic enough to order fucking cartoon grips for it too though, so keep that in mind

Sellier and Bellot, Armscor and Privi Partisan target ammo all sell for $15-17 per box online pretty regularly. It is still uncommon to find cheap 10mm ammo in brick and mortar stores, but online, things are really starting to shape up.

My biggest complaint with 10mm is just that the guns that fire it can't seem to hold up to doing so unless you're using weak .40-esque loads that defeat the point of having a 10mm in the first place.
