>>
>>32421234
It was my favorite handgun growing up. I'm sure Die Hard and Lethal Weapon played a role in that.

When it came time to buy my first handgun I had the Beretta 92, Walther P99 (at the time, 1st Gen) and Glock 19 (at the time, Gen 3) up on the counter.

The Beretta looked like a monster compared to the other two. Because I have small hands, I couldn't reach any of the controls comfortably like I could with the Walther and Glock.

Even though I loved the way it looked, it just wasnt a good fit for me. I ended up going with the Walther P99 over he Glock because it felt a lot better in my hands.

I still think the 92 Inox Brigadier and especially the new 92 a3 are sexy as hell, though...
>>
>>32421234
I can get over the safety being mounted to the frame (though it's still dumb), but why in the fuck does it have to be upside down? It's like some gun companies go out of their way to be retarded.

It's probably just the design they decided to go with, I don't think it's cheaper. They got lazy I guess, like they just cobbled it together without realizing how difficult it would be to actually rack and take the safety off in a hurry.

Because it replaced the 1911. That's it. That's the entire reason that anyone hates it at all. The USA wanted to get with NATO spec so it needed a 9mm. The Beretta was chosen. So everyone fudded their pants and tossed their remedies and went screeching into the streets.

>9mm can't kill gooks!
>Lol Italian engineering
>7+1 of God's chosen round is better than 15+1 of some faggot European round!!
>John Moses Browning should be on Mount Rushmore and we are going to desecrate him like THIS??!??

And on and on. The "AK is reliable and the AR-15 is a jam o matic" still loves on from fucking Vietnam. The Beretta is actually a very nice shooting gun and the military could have done much worse.

The original Beretta 92 was slide-mounted safety.
The Tauruses are made in a really old Beretta plant down in Brazil.
They wen't to the slide-mounted safety because some police agencies wanted a decocker, that was the Beretta 92S.
They still occasionally make special edition 92's with the frame safety.
>>
>>32422183
Errr, original 92 was *frame* safety, hurray typos.

>>32421234

>>32421338
Objectively better looking than a 1911. I say objectively because in John Brownings own words its a 1911 but fixed.
>>
>>32421234

There's absolutely nothing wrong with it. I bought a 92S for $270 recently, and it was in flawless condition save for some holster wear on the slide (the bluing was worn down on the edges a bit). Other than that, the barrel was basically brand new, and it shoots great. I'm tempted to add some dots to the sights via paint and possibly light drilling, but it's fine otherwise.
>>
>>32421659
>>32421671

The Hi Power would look better with a nice dovetail, IMO. I wish I could get something midway between the CZ 75 and the Hi Power, thin like the Hi Power, but with the ultra comfy ergos of the CZ and a nice big thumbrest safety like the 1911.

Oh well, maybe someday I'll strike it rich and make the perfect fudd all steel handgun.

Only retards complain about this, you can seriously use the safety as a grip when racking the slide and you won't activate it by mistake.

>>32421306
Yeah, but capacity.
A Hi-Power has 15rd magazines at best, a Beretta has 18rd magazines.
Also no double-action.

Double-action eliminates the need for cocked and locked, not that you can't carry it with a cocked hammer without issue.

The key features I like on the M9A3 are the vertec grips which are basically slimmed down grips and the G decock only lever.

Really do not care about the shitty three dot tritiums, threaded barrel or special finish they put on the gun and its magazines.

A cheaper alternative to getting the "right" M9 is getting the PX4.

read again, my problem with SA/DA triggers is when you HAVE to have the DA trigger for at least the first shot.
CZ and HK safeties don't automatically decock the gun, so they can be carried condition one, i.e. cocked and locked, i.e. hammer back safety on, i.e. IMPOSSIBLE WITH BERETTA

>>32424248
>not that you can't carry it with a cocked hammer without issue.
YOU CAN NOT CARRY A BERETTA WITH A COCKED HAMMER AND THE SAFETY ON
THE GOD DAMN SAFETY DECOCKS THE GOD DAMN HAMMER AS SOON AS YOU ENGAGE IT
WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP IMPLYING OTHERWISE?
>>

>>
>>32424554

>>32424567
Brigadier slides have a heavier profile and much more strength where the locking block engages, meaning it's much more sturdy and can safely handle much stronger loads, if you mean to shoot a lot of +P ammo, or if you want to make a 9mm Bravo build, a Brigadier slide is a must.
>>
>>32424662

People on /k/ hate the M9 because they have little to no experience with it and just buy up what vets say when the only experience they've got is qualifying with shitty, beat up M9s that are as old as they are.

>Rediculously accurate
>Great grip/feel for me (6'3")
>High magazine capacity
>Reliably shoots most if not all ammo
>Slidelock
>Did I mention accurate?

Friends have complained about failure to feed/stove piping when they shot it. I simply took the pistol and showed them how to operate it..

The same reason you are complaining about a gun you have never touched.

my grandpa owns one. it was the first handgun I ever shot, and I shot it plenty. I thought it was fine until I shot a 1911, and later a Hi Power.

There are trivial differences between an M9 and a 92FS. If you don't already know what's different between the two then you probably don't care. But you can get them in either configuration at most gun stores for basically the same price. At Cabela's, not exactly the cheapest place, a new M9 is $619 and a new 92FS is $649.
