Is this true in Nevada? Federally they only care about illegal drugs, being committed against your will, and "being adjudicated mentally defective" (which is something that happens in a trial, or now in a federal disability hearing).

Nothing should keep you from seeking treatment on your own, unless you're also seeking you get disability for your mental illness.

Some shrink can just diagnose OP with some mental illness or condition that falls under the scope of "mentally defective" and it's nogunz forever. They're not only likely to do this to force you to keep coming back to them for pills and to force you to give them more money, but also because a lot of those anti gun fucks legitimately think forcibly taking away your guns is good for society.

The worst part is that it's almost impossible to contest your diagnosis once you have it since nobody would listen to let alone take the side of an "insane" person.

Between 17 and 20 I went to four treatments for alcoholism/addiction. I applied for a permit to purchase when I was 23, got it no problem.

If you seek treatment, I don't think you get penalized. I think you lose your rights if you have to be committed.

Go check in to your local detox place man. They have places like this everywhere and its free provided by the gov. Dont feel bad for going there, you are doing the right thing and trying to get on the right path. These places were designed to help people that want to be helped LIKE YOU. I personally went to detox a couple years ago and recently purchased another rifle no problems. 10/10 would recommend

AA works bud. If you have to check yourself into a medical detox first. Alcohol withdraw is no joke and can kill you. There's also state run programs that allow you to sort of "jump start" yourself into sober living. Don't get discouraged by people who are in those programs on court order, than can be bad influence. Theres also a lot of people you will find you can relate with and they will help you get and stay sober. That being said, probably not a great place to find a woman lol. And remember, you will get out of any program only as much as you put in. Good luck to you anon, you can do it if you want it bad enough.

Be honest with your doctor and have him/her prescribe you some mild Benzodiazepenes for off-label use. Clonazepam helps calm you down when you get that strong urge. Ask me how I know... Docs generally want to help, and 30 days worth should be a non-issue for any reasonable doc. Just ask! Plus, they're cheap at the pharmacy. Try to get at least 1mg.

Find something productive to do with your time. Be it a deep cleaning of your house, or some home repair project, etc. Take yourself out of situations that you would normally have been drinking in. I.e. shitposting all night.

You're not alone in this. Millions have been through what stage you are at now and have kicked it in the ass. If you're lonely, go to an AA meeting. Just sit an listen for the first few meetings. These people are chill as fuck.
